“You have also been chosen to know the cleansing power of His blood that covers all sin and failure. May He impart grace and power to you abundantly.” (1 Peter 1 v 2 The Truth)
We become united with Christ Jesus,
In the blessed sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.
This is God’s plan for us,
To save mankind from sinfulness,
From satan and final, eternal separation, a damnation. Our Father loves us too much for this to happen.
The Lord Jesus lived, died and was resurrected
All for us, for us to share in His holiness.
In a nutshell, this is what life is about
Getting to know and gaining Jesus’ friendship.
Believing in Him as He sends His Spirit to us.
Becoming united with Him as we pray.
Learning to become like Him, reverent in obedience.
The Son of God is life to us, led by the Holy Spirit.
“You have been chosen deliberately by God the Father for the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.” (1 Peter 1 v 2 The Truth)
“It is He who enables your obedience to Christ Jesus, as those set apart for His purposes.” (1 Peter 1 v 2 The Truth)
Dearest Father, I thank and praise You for the knowledge and experience of salvation, as gained for us when we turn to Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
His cleansing blood poured out at the †of our redemption, is re-presented to us in the blessed Eucharist, as the Holy Spirit transubstantiates the chalice of wine into the blood of Jesus. This is the work of the miraculous Spirit. Please receive our praise.
You are the Father of mercy who does impart grace and peace to us abundantly through Your Son. The Lord Jesus speaks to us as Your truth when He says He is life to us, His example the way we are to live.
But we cannot accomplish this highest of standards without the Spirit of holiness descending upon us. And this will not happen unless we pray and invite Him to come to us.
Please send us the Holy Spirit to guide, encourage, correct and safeguard us. We need His input at all times to combat satan thoroughly, successfully.
The Holy Spirit is our shield, our defence against the enemy, because He inspires us with a fear that is holy, a fear which directs us to never want to stray from You.
To stray is to disobey and this is a serious error, for You do not wish any irreverence to be a part of our life, or we will not reach heaven.
We are weak willed sadly. But in Your mercy, You have the answer to this problem. You send us the One who is perfectly holy. He is our Teacher as well as our Saviour.
When the Lord Jesus promises us His fullness of life, this is in all His holiness shared with us by the Holy Spirit. We are of all peoples most blessed, thank You.
“Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go.” (Isaiah 48 v 17)
This comes true for us when we focus upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus, thank You, Father of mercy, so benevolent towards us.
We value Your instruction highly, because it means life gained for us in the holiness of the Lord Jesus, and this is the richest blessing.
We have not earned the forgiveness Jesus won for us. But the gracious Spirit makes us aware of our dependency, and develops an attitude of trusting obedience making all the difference to us.
We learn life’s lessons but slowly. Please can we keep receiving the Holy Spirit, who means so much to us in shaping us to be students of the Master.
Jesus’ words are joyous! “ ‘Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me’.” (John 14 v 1) May the world at large come to believe we have a Saviour.
We need proof of this fact. The Holy Spirit will help us to understand and appreciate all that our Saviour Brother has accomplished for us, especially at the † and by the blessed Eucharist.
May the Spirit ever work to convince mankind that You have demonstrated an incredible love, a holy love, in sending Your Son to die for us whilst we were still sinners. This is no ordinary love by far! This is holy love which we must long to share if the world is to thrive.
The process of salvation continues. The occasion of the celebration of the Sacramental Mystery makes that clear. We have been saved from Your understandable anger by Jesus’ great love for us.
Jesus has made the ultimate sacrifice with His holy life, giving this up for us at the †, that we be saved from punishment. This is our faith!
And in addition, this is a hope which will not end in disappointment because Father God, out of Your mercy, You have already filled our hearts with the Spirit of love. Thank You!
You have gifted us the Spirit to live within us, just like the Lord Jesus is possessed by us through holy communion. No longer are we powerless to please You.
Our sins forgiven, even forgotten, we move forwards by faith on to a higher plane of life, where we experience not only hope, but peace and joy.
Oh for all the world to know the joy of Jesus’ friendship and to make Him our worship, offering all thanks for our reconciliation with You, Lord God of mercy.
Let the Holy Spirit remind us of prophecy: “Come and let us return to the LORD; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up,” (Hosea 6 v 1) in the love of Your Son, by Your Spirit of faith.
Oh that we all would listen to holy prophecy, through which hear the Lord Jesus speaking nothing but holy truth, then we can learn and make better progress in respecting holiness.
Let us pray with blessings unfolding as we “ ‘Therefore know that You LORD are our God, the faithful God who keeps Your covenant promise and mercy for generation after generation with those who love You and keep Your commandments.” (based on Deuteronomy 7 v 9)
Out of loving mercy You have made our new life in the Lord Jesus possible, as we seek the Holy Spirit’s input. We are convinced of salvation making us into a new creation.
Having received the risen life of the Lord Jesus, being made one with Him by the Holy Spirit, we are a new, richly blessed creation! We should no longer live for ourselves, but for our Saviour Brother.
Holy love is manifest in the Person of the Lord Jesus and made real to us by the Holy Spirit of power, of prayer, of anointed understanding, of life enhancing knowledge.
Lord God, Your love as shown to us by Your Son and Your Spirit, this is the firm foundation upon which we base our faith’s trust and dependency.
“Surely Your salvation is near to those who fear You” respectfully loving You, dearest Father, “That glory may dwell in our land.” (based on Psalm 85 v 9)
The Lord Jesus alive in us by the Holy Spirit, this is the glory of the Christian faith. “So I pray that as You are the God of hope who keeps us looking expectantly to the future, You will fill us with Your joy and peace as we continue to live by faith in Jesus.” (based on Romans 15 v 13 The Truth)
May the power of the Holy Spirit be at work in us in such a way that focusing on the love You gift us in Jesus, by the Holy Spirit’s impact, we will always be a people of hope.
Our hope is to spend eternity enjoying the company of the Trinity, ever remaining praying for all upon earth, whilst praising and offering thanks for the blessings of salvation, Your best, highest, richest gift to us.
The reward of living by faith in the Lord Jesus as Saviour, the Divine Healer always most readily available to us in the blessed Eucharist, this will be heavenly! Amen.
