“Breathe in us, Holy Spirit, that we may think what is holy.” (St Augustine, the singular invocation made plural)
Light amidst darkness,
Salvation is our forgiveness,
Given by our Father of mercy
Through the Person of His Son.
Jesus is the Light of wisdom,
Of truth, of grace, of blessing,
Of saving help, of our full healing.
We are in the season of joy,
The Easter season of ongoing forgiveness.
“You send forth Your Spirit, they are created and You renew the face of the earth.” (Psalm 104 v 30)
Oh how God does bless us!
Jesus lights our way forwards.
We escape the penalty of sin
To begin anew through holy love’s mercy.
The Holy Spirit is our safe guidance,
He inspires loving reverence,
That of discipleship through fellowship,
Making Christ Jesus our life’s purpose,
The plan of our Father fulfilled.
“Move us Holy Spirit, that we may do what is holy.” (St Augustine, the singular invocation made plural)
“Strengthen us Holy Spirit, that we may guard what is holy.” (St Augustine, the singular invocation made plural)
Come, Holy Spirit to enable us to concentrate on the eternal goodness of our ever merciful, all loving, compassionately forgiving Father.
Thank You for Your love shown us in Christ Jesus, the love that brings the greatest happiness of all, for it is trustworthy, uplifting, encouraging, hope giving and peace building in all its holy power and outcome.
Yours is the power behind all that is worthy in life. That is why we need be anxious for nothing whatever. We have a Saviour in Your Son, by Your Spirit!
The Holy Spirit is the faith Giver, Builder, Support, Strengthener, Shaper, an architect, sculptor and Master craftsman. His work is sublime.
His action is ever kindly even when disciplining us, this being necessary for our own good. His intentions are lofty, full of holy purpose. His methods are friendly, instructive, helpful.
He sows the seeds of friendship between us and Christ Jesus, that we may come before our Father’s throne and plead for mercy for multiple causes, knowing we are not only heard, but will be answered.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of patience when the answers to prayer are a long time in coming, or difficult for us to recognise. He is an Instructor, Counsellor and wise Adviser who can be trusted and relied upon.
He lifts us above stress and strife by teaching us to pray about anything and everything. He shapes our thoughts and safeguards our requests to give us confidence in our faith.
The Holy Spirit in Jesus, is our faith’s development, outreach, teaching and preaching, correction and discipline. For He wants us to be fully holy, properly holy, pious but not heavily serious.
Therefore the Holy Spirit balances out life for us, enabling us to look on faith as an adventurous journey winding our way home to heaven carefully and continuously.
We delight in the supreme power of the Holy Spirit, enabling us even in the midst of the hardest battles with adversity, to claim the victory of the †in Christ Jesus.
Once introduced to our Brother’s friendship, life takes on a different view. We walk on the brighter side of life, seeing frequently fresh opportunities to spread the gospel good news.
Life we find, holds endless surprises in the love Christ Jesus gifts us. We become the recipients of kindly action, good intentions brought to fruitful fruition in the Holy Spirit of love, of new life, of rich experience.
We know our Father as ‘Abba’ our Brother as Saviour and Redeemer, the Alpha and Omega of faith, our hope because He is God’s promise, the Spirit convinces us.
As we grow to know Christ Jesus’ friendship more fully, we realise who we were, how we are made anew through the victory at the †, our salvation won, and the tireless work of redemption at the hands of the Spirit.
We reach forwards looking, heaven our destiny. We work and pray to become fully holy, nothing held back for in Christ Jesus we lack no good thing requisite to become God’s family, rescued from satan, from all that is evil.
We try to stay alert and to pray more frequently, avidly and intently for our attention to be enhanced. We do not always have to be striving after something, except of course, holiness.
We offer all thanks and praise for the work of the Holy Spirit, the Life Enhancer who through faith gives us growth in the purpose of clinging to our Saviour out of love and respect. We know Christ Jesus died for love of us and rose again.
The Holy Spirit teaches us we have a Forever Saviour in our Father. The Spirit develops our discipled and determined effort to become holy. He makes our ministry in Christ Jesus grow, flow and flourish.
The Holy Spirit works tirelessly to develop a sincere, truly reverent and obedient faith, feeding us spiritually until we reach full maturity. And even then, He enables that which is perfect and more sound.
He is our strength of every battle with satan, with adversity seeking to hurt and harm us. The Holy Spirit does not allow this for He turns everything to its godly ordained purpose when we work and pray in Jesus’ name.
Here the Spirit of Glory works towards fulfilment, in the completion by which we, having been made perfect in true love which is in Christ Jesus, will reach heaven.
In the power of holy love, that which works steadily, patiently, consistently and mercifully, we are being built up into a new creation, no longer under the condemnation of sin.
Holy love in all its extraordinary power given us in the friendship of Christ Jesus, our worship, all for the sake of God’s glory, this is transformative. Reformation and restoration are always God given, according to the power of holy love. Amen.
