Sunset sky,
Colour rides high.
A summer story
In glory of pink,
I think the deeper
Here the better.
Look at the magenta
Splashed across sapphire blue,
Only to merge
Into flamingo pink,
Or paler taffeta.
The August sky
At sunset,
You will get
Rich, richest colour.
The salmon pink
May turn soon
To impact of orange,
Warmth a-glow.
A splendid show
Of clouds set alight
Bright with colour.
Stop awhile,
Admire God’s style
As He reaches
From above
With love
To teach us.
Sunset sky
High in colour,
Rejoice in the Creator
Who makes us
Ever happier
To see
His glory.
A rainbow
Can accomplish this.
So too, can
The golden sky
Of sunset in
Winter, in December.
But the glory
Of an August evening,
The sky at sunset
Deeper, richer, warmer,
Is joy to behold,
The mould of God’s hand
And our delight.
For is not
This fuller, hotter,
Sunset colour,
Ever an anthem
Of praise to God,
Life’s Creator,
Shaper and Sustainer.
I think this must be,
Ever to Your glory,
Lord God Almighty.
Father Creator, for the vibrant glory of an August sunset sky,I thank and praise You from a happy heart.
Amen.
