TEAL

Sue O’Donnell. 17.08.20

What a real appeal has teal

In its blue green, green blue.

Is this due to the colourful, beautiful sheen of nature?

It is as if the colours of sky and sea

Come together with the green of tree,

To remind us of God’s very gift of life itself,

Our Creator Father designs colour to be fine,

Whatever the shade may be.

Teal is lovely, whether deeper in tone as in vibrant turquoise,

Maybe becoming as kingfisher blue, a turquoise hue.

Let then teal feature somewhere

To share God’s thoughts on colour.

Décor is enhanced by this natural shade, God made.

The sea has real appeal.

Is this because of its shade

Often made to be teal to appeal in blue green sheen?

Maybe!

But certainly it can be to God’s glory

For us to see and enjoy the appeal of teal, a pale turquoise.

May this then be in some way or another,

If not around us in nature, then in our choice of soft furnishing décor.

For when we see the appeal of teal

Surely we will rejoice in God’s choice of colour,

Being readily reminded of the glory of nature.

Lord, thank You for this rather unusual colour, not quite blue, not quite green. Teal does have such appeal, I praise You for its several shades from duck egg blue to deepest, boldest turquoise. Teal refreshes us. So does Your love too! Amen.
