“Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.” (Psalm 62 v 8)
Trust, the must of faith as we look to the †.
We learn to do this through Jesus,
Our personal experience of God with us
As Protector, Provider, Deliverer,
The One who longs to bless us.
Thus Jesus comes to us in the Eucharist,
That as God with us, His Word, Jesus can possess us,
And address us through His Spirit commanding us.
What merit we discover here, God near as love.
Love which accomplishes any godly aspect we ask for.
“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their own sinful selves. They have given up their old selfish feelings and the evil things they wanted to do. We get our new life from the Spirit, so we should follow the Spirit.” (Galatians 5 v 24, 25 NIV)
Our Father will drive away our anxious fear,
By the offer of conditional love
Made possible for us by Jesus on the †.
Again the Eucharist has its part to play
As we pray the liturgy to express our belief,
In relief from sin, so as to begin once more.
Jesus, by the Spirit, is the One to restore us.
What grace, what favour, this blesses us.
Thank God for the Eucharist, the promise and proclamation
Of Jesus, as God with us, in all faithfulness by the Spirit.
Steadfast loving kindness has been heaped upon us, so trust!
“Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You.” (Psalm 9 v 10)
“ ‘See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in Him shall never be put to shame’.” (1 Peter 2 v 6)
Therefore let us pray.
