“Listen to My instruction and be wise.” (Proverbs 8 v 32 NLT) 

Holy wisdom speaks to us, speaking fondly, but firmly.

All the majesty of wise truth,

Is manifest to us in Christ Jesus, the living Word of God.

Lord Jesus, You are for me:

My life given a true purpose;

The hope of holiness I would like to gain;

The meaning given to love’s charity;

A friendship without any compare;

The One in whom I can honour our Father;

A charismatic Teacher, Preacher and Leader;

The One who opens up the gateway to heaven;

The peace I gain through forgiveness;

Every promise of our Father fulfilled;

The source of the Holy Spirit, a Helper;

The Second Person of the Almighty Trinity;

Lord of heaven, earth and our new birth;

The King of Glory re-writing the human story; 

The Vine I must cling to for survival which is eternal;

The command to love at all times;  

A way of life which is worthwhile, becoming entirely holy;

The truth that God loves us and is merciful towards us;

Fullness of life each and every day;

The One through whom I can pray and be answered;

The harmony between heaven and earth, holiness and happiness; 

The Master, Shepherding us tenderly, lovingly; 

The Victor over all that is evil;

My comfort and consolation amidst worry, difficulty or tragedy;

The joy of sharing all that is worthwhile, being honourable;

The all in all that counts;

My worship especially through the Holy Eucharist;

The Paschal Lamb sacrificed for our forgiveness; 

Our Forever Saviour, Mentor and Brother;

Our faith’s empowering by the Holy Spirt of love;

Our attention directed firmly, continuously, gainfully upon heaven;

The One, who with the Spirit, our Father reaches down for us.

“ ‘The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone.” (John 1 v 4 NLT)   

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” (John 1 v 5 NLT)  

Lord, I must pray! Please help me to pray for :  

The world to recognise You and respond to the healing love You offer us; 

My family and friends to be given through belief in You, the right to be called children of God; 

Everybody’s new birth by baptism and the new life given by the Holy Spirit. Please, please enable this to

happen; 

Others to experience as I have, Your unfailing love and faithfulness;  

Many to see the glory of God in You, through You, by co-operation with the Holy Spirit; 

“Listen to My instruction and be wise” wisdom says speaking through the Holy Spirit, “Don’t ignore it.” (Proverbs 8 v 33 NLT) 

“Joyful are those who listen to me…” (v 34) for we start to yearn to become more like You, Lord Jesus, realising that practice does indeed make perfect; 

“For whoever finds Me finds life and receives favour from the Lord,” (v 35) that life in all fullness now and eternally; 

“…begin to live, learn to use good judgment.” (Proverbs 9 v 6 NLT) You help us with this by continuing to send the Holy Spirit of wisdom to safeguard and guide us;  

You “Teach the righteous” and the result “They will learn even more.” (v 9); 

O Lord, Saviour and Master, our life is in Your hands as You involve the Lord God of mercy to look upon us favourably. 

“Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment,” (v 10) thank You.  

“ ‘Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life. I believe and I know that You are the Holy One of God’.” (John 6 v 68, 69 personalised)  

I am so grateful that You are in my life. Thank You for everything that You are, all that You do, the meaning that You bring to daily life. “From His abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another.” (John 1 v 16 NLT) “God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through You.” (based on v 17) You are, I am sure “…the unique One, who is Himself God, (and) is near to the Father’s heart…” (v 18) and is always praying for us. Please keep praying for me! Amen
