“Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.” (Psalm 143 v 10)
Come, Holy Spirit, our:
Minister,
Helper,
Teacher,
Instructor,
Informer,
Revealer,
Counsellor,
Corrector,
Communicator,
Purifier,
Sanctifier
Strengthener,
Supporter,
Sustainer,
Fortifier,
Leader,
Reconciler,
That we know
How to grow
In all holy wisdom
And the truth seen in Jesus,
The revelation above all else that:
“The glory of the cross has enlightened all those who were blinded by ignorance. It has set free all those who were slaves of sin. It has redeemed the whole human race.” (St Cyril of Jerusalem)
Come, Holy Spirit, our:
Revelation of salvation;
Appreciation of redemption;
Endurance in the face of challenge;
Uplift when we suffer setbacks;
Awareness of life’s fullness in Jesus;
Reconciliation by means of prayer;
Safekeeping against satan’s deception;
Defence against the lure of the world;
Recognition that we are fallen;
Means by which we find an answer in Christ Jesus;
Recognition of the way home to heaven;
Realisation of how to ask for this to happen;
Prayers’ development as a daily essential;
Method of continuous holiness;
Faith’s upbuild and outreach from the Father by the Son;
Success in becoming and maintaining ourselves as Jesus’ works in progress.
“...God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5 v 19)
“The ministry based on letters engraved on stone resulted in failure and death. Even so, that ministry expressed something of God’s glory, for the Israelites were not able to stare at Moses’ face because it shone with that glory, even though it was glory that faded. But how much more of God’s glory will be revealed through the ministry of His Holy Spirit?...How much more of God’s glory is revealed through the ministry that makes men righteous and acceptable to God!” (2 Corinthians 3 v 7, 8, 9)
“A believer does not need to have the heart attitude that (s)he has to break through to heaven to bring Christ down into His life. Neither does (s)he have to think that (s)he must wait until death before (s)he can know the Lord personally.” (Romans 10 v 6, 7 The Truth) Please pray invoking the Holy Spirit to come and minister to us, kindling in us the fire of His love for the Lord Jesus, so as to delight and honour our Father. Amen.
