“We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks! For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is Near.” (Psalm 75 v 1)
God’s glory is the true faith story
Of our life given to service in Jesus,
Animated, dedicated by the Spirit,
The Spirit of fire brightly burning.
The result is our yearning to live fully,
Giving ourselves over entirely to Jesus as Master,
The living Word of God to be honoured and obeyed.
Having prayed and asked of the Spirit,
We confidently expect a godly outcome.
“It is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all Your works.” (Psalm 73 v 28)
Our old life undone, sinfulness obliterated,
We strive after the holiness of Jesus, to emulate this.
The Spirit is the kiss of life
Breathing new life of loving into our being.
The Spirit is a flame to ignite us.
The Spirit is a fire burning to excite us.
Possibly He will start with our study of sacred Scripture,
Whereby the very nature of God is disclosed in Christ Jesus,
Living God’s way, by His truth, verified by Jesus’ holy life of love,
That we become rich in love’s rich grace, Spirit taught.
“I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand.” (Psalm 73 v 23)
The Spirit comes to us when the Lord Jesus requests this.
The Lord Jesus is responding to our faith’s belief
And to our expression of love made in prayer.
The prayer of repair is very much the work of the Spirit,
Leading us to serve in holiness, our position justified by Jesus.
Because Jesus is holy, we are adopted into God’s family.
Trials and tribulations serve to refine us, even re-design us.
All thanks to the Lord Jesus and the fire of the Spirit,
Enabling us to live in joyful fidelity to our calling to become holy.
“For God is my King from of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.” (Psalm 74 v 12)
Our calling is broadcasting the glory of God in Christ Jesus,
Made possible only when the fire of the Spirit burns.
Fire is a cleansing agent, burning away the dross of sin.
The Spirit of fire works hard to develop our purity.
The prosperity of all that is holy is founded on sound morality,
That to the Lord God Almighty, be all the glory.
The Spirit helps to convert us in all the wisdom and truth
Which flowers and flourishes in a life given to Jesus,
The power of godly love being all powerful and ever beneficial.
“You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.” (Psalm 73 v 24)
“Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.” (Psalm 73 v 25)
Dearest Father, thank You for the gifting of Your Son and Your Spirit, so as to animate our faith, trust and dependency correctly.
Richly we are rewarded when we come to You for help, support, provision and guidance. The Spirit of love enables us to better understand how gracious You are.
You have established us as Your sons and daughters in Christ, anointed us for service in His name and have blessed us by granting us a spiritual Counsellor and Adviser.
When the disciples were walking along the road to Emmaus, and Jesus explained the Scripture to them, their hearts burned. May our hearts burn with love as a response to the Spirit of fire enlightening us.
I praise and thank You for both the living Word of Your promise to us, the Lord Jesus, and the written word of sacred Scripture, so beneficial to learn from.
We learn of Your continuous, steadfast loving kindness and faithfulness towards us, a people in need of redemption. You provide this in Jesus, all thanks and praise ever be.
You are “A refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble, and those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.” (Psalm 9 v 9, 10)
I pray for those who do not really know You, so fail to turn to the Lord Jesus their Saviour Brother, Leader and offer of new life in the Spirit of faith.
May the Spirit of devotion, the One who helps us forge the way forwards to our homeland in heaven, with the Lord Jesus accompanying us, may this Spirit impact upon them, warming their hearts, enlightening their
minds.
The Spirit is our assurance of Your saving work as fulfilled by the Lord Jesus, thank You. May this ever be.
In the face of any doubt or fear, let the Spirit please reassure us through our experience of the knowledge of Jesus.
For as a Trinity of love and mercy, “You will light our lamp. You are the Lord our God who will enlighten our darkness.” (based on Psalm 18 v 28)
Thank You for showing us the perfection of Your love and inviting us to become an active part of this led by Jesus and supported by the Holy Spirit. This perfection results in our salvation.
Thank You that we do not have to work our way to heaven, for the † is a free gift saving us from final separation, or any severing of our relationship.
“The person who knows that no amount of work can make him or her pleasing to You, Lord God, understands that we must put our faith in Your mercy.” (based on Romans 4 v 5 The Truth)
“You alone are able to forgive sinners and make them acceptable and of right standing before You.” (Cont.) Thank You for the revelation for this is so important for us to realise.
Thank You that the Holy Spirit always comes to all who seek Him, to prevent us who believe from being ineffective and unproductive in our relationship with the Lord Jesus.
Being cleansed and healed, our past sins forgiven, our present being consecrated to love’s service in the Lord Jesus’ name, may the Spirit ever impact upon us in all holy wisdom and truth.
“For by doing so, we will never fail and we will receive a wonderful welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” (based on 2 Peter 1 v 10,11)
Of all peoples how truly, richly blessed we are.
O Lord God, dearest Father, how good, how loving, how merciful, how kind and compassionate You are towards us, as confident in our faith in Jesus and adherence to the Spirit, we look for a godly outcome.
Our old life has gone, thank You. The new has come, thank You. Today is blessed and tomorrow can be consecrated in love’s service undertaken in the glorious name of Jesus, the Spirit of faith being our kiss of life.
May the breath of the Spirit always accomplish much by preparing us to receive all the riches of love as manifest in the Lord Jesus, our Mentor.
Thank You that we may have to ask to receive of the Spirit’s impact, turning our whole life around until we focus entirely on the Master, Christ Jesus who saves us from the errors of our ways, when not under the
influence of the Spirit.
Thank You that the Spirit, devoted to us as is the Lord Jesus, the Spirit enables us to live in joyful fidelity to our calling to become holy.
O Lord, there is so much to offer all thanks for day by blessed day, perhaps especially the realisation that “I am able to do everything through trusting in the One who always gives me strength.” (Philippians 4 v 13)
How beneficial is the power of godly love and mercy, our every need met. “And You, Lord my God will surely supply for all our needs, drawing on the glorious riches You have given us through our unity with Christ Jesus,” (based on Philippians 4 v 19 The Truth) and our response to the Spirit’s call.
Father, Son and Holy Spirit, glory belongs to You now and eternally, as do all heartfelt thanks and warmest praise in response to the love and mercy shown us. We rejoice to be made Yours! Amen.
