THE DANCE OF THE DAHLIA

Sue O’Donnell. 20.09.20

The dahlia days of September

Will make you amaze as you remember

The range of flower colour never get broader.

Each fabulously formed, beautiful flower

At the hand of the Creator, the colour Designer

To give voice to your choice of specimens the finer.

This will be a challenge, the variety so splendid,

Although you can readily see what the Lord intended.

With any flower of this particular form

If you have to make a choice out of summer’s norm.

I suggest you find a seat in a garden of splendour,

Amidst an ample array of each style of dahlia.

And the colour of dahlia bidding to win the day

Whilst blowing in wonder, your breath away.

The speciality of all dahlia types you can ponder,

Fully vibrant with such vitality, a real colour energy

Showing by blooming from summer’s start to when frosty.

You may become lost in thought, such is the beauty

Of all the glorious dahlia days to treasure fully.

September reaches a garden’s glory peak,

Calling a response by the magnificent pleasure we seek.

Offer warm thanks then to the Creator.

Life would be duller without the dance of the dahlia.

Lord, I cannot imagine ever growing tired with the dance of the dahlia for it is truly wonderful flower of late summer. Thank You so much for this treasure. Amen.
