Sand and sea, I am gloriously free;
A steep mountain slope, caution needed to safely cope;
Open countryside, delightful for roaming far and wide;
A garden in summer, truly delightful in colour;
Somewhere with architecture, a fascinating feature;
Moorland to greet abutting a rolling hill, at its feet;
Where oh where do I find a thrill?
The point is to escape the everyday,
The hustle bustle that comes insistently your way.
Seek, find a place of silent solitude
And see how peacefulness raises your mood.
A day’s escape is a joy untold,
All manner of interest may unfold.
Maybe there are majestic views over many a mile.
Well worth developing a contented smile.
But the finest thing is without a doubt,
The best yet to come when you turn about,
And home you go, your front door to spy
For then excitement rides really high!
Lord, exploring is lovely, thank You But, oh how joyful it is to return to our home. There is nothing like the contentment and security in the familiarity of being at home, where we sense our belonging. Amen.
