WISDOM

Sue O’Donnell. 18.12.20

“Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other’.” (Isaiah 45

v 22)

Wisdom is knowing the Father of Jesus

Is the God of justice, all kindness and fairness.

He is our Father too, according to mercy.

The mercy won for us by Christ Jesus.

This Child born as a Son of Mary,

Our Saviour come into the world,

Jesus was born amongst us for God’s purpose.

Not only is Jesus our rescue from sin,

We begin to live anew through His Spirit.

The Spirit of wisdom and truth is invaluable to us.

Jesus the Saviour, is Teacher by example.

The Spirit, the Sanctifier, is an Illuminator.

He shows us where we go wrong

And in explaining Jesus’ mission to rescue us,

The Holy Spirit outlines why and where we go wrong.

The God of gods speaks to us for He seeks us.

“ ‘I have sworn by Myself; the word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall take an oath.” (Isaiah 45 v 23)

He does this seeking and speaking His Son and the Holly Spirit.

The Holy Spirit shows us something really significant:

It is in our quiestest moments we are truly ourselves.

We keep busy, ever, ever busy to dull our mind often,

To prevent us seeing the stark truth.

This truth shows us up as a disobedient, irreverent people,

A civilisation off course, needing pulling back.

We have lot the shape of holiness,

The regular practise of prayer, biblical study,

And receiving frequently all the sacred sacraments.

We miss out on the blessing of the Sacrament of Reconciliation,

Where God’s loving forgiveness is gifted us through the Lord Jesus.

His sacrifice on the †means we are pardoned of our sins.

Sin, however heinous, is forgiven and forgotten.

We become a new creation in Christ Jesus,

Surely a cause for prayer of reflection, introspection and then thanksgiving?

“Let the Kingdom of heaven and living in right relationship with God be your priorities; then everything

else you need will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6 v 33 The Truth)

“Jesus is the word made Flesh. Jesus is the Bread of Life. Jesus is the victim offered for our sins on the Cross. Jesus is the Sacrifice offered at the Holy Mass for the sins of the world and mine.” (St Teresa of Calcutta)

Father God, as by the Holy Spirit you have made wonderfully known to us the mystery of Christ’s cradle and His †, please grant that our faith founded on this truth of salvation, will always cling to the Lord Jesus’

teaching, especially by example. Let us pray in warm thanksgiving that this is made very real to us by the Holy Spirit of love, who builds us up in faith prayer by prayer. Thank You that when praying, He will help us to use these final few days of Advent wisely. For sooner or later it will be said to us by our Saviour, the Lord Jesus“ ‘If anyone makes the decision to be My follower, (s)he will have to deny what (s)he wants for him

(her)self. (S)he must be prepared to suffer willingly any cross of sacrifice asked of him (her); then (s)he can follow Me’.” (Matthew 16 v 24 The Truth) Let us pray to say thank You so much for the wise guidance

given us by the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit who always verifies holy truth. Amen.
