THIRST

Sue O’Donnell. 27.07.30

“ ‘Fear not ...For I will pour water on him (her) who is thirsty and floods on dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants.” (Isaiah 44 v 3)

This is God’s blessing on Israel,

And we who believe in Jesus as the Christ,

The One our Father sent to live and die for us

Upon a †of forgiveness, justifying God’s mercy,

We are made family as the recipients of an inherited grace.

Grace is knowing the Lord God as a Trinity of mercy.

“Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts, ‘I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God’.” (Isaiah 44 v 6)

We are called to thirst.

Thirst after wisdom and truth found in holiness.

Thirst after finding who the Lord Jesus is.

Thirst to receive of His anointing Spirit.

Thirst after loving and serving the Lord God of mercy.

Thirst after life’s discovery of eternal meaning and purpose

“Do not fear or be afraid; have I not told you from that time and declared it?” (Isaiah 44 v 8)

“ ‘You are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one’.”

(Isaiah 44 v 8)

“ ‘Who would form a god or mould an image that profits him (her) nothing?” (Isaiah 44 v 10) Father God, as You speak directly to us in the sacred Scriptures, let us pray so as to be able to apply the holy wisdom

and truth to our own daily life. We must thirst for Your teaching. Amen.
