Peach of pink and lime of lemon,
Colours are a glimpse of heaven.
Lilac, violet and ruby red,
Many colours star in the flower bed.
Sunburst orange and creamy white,
God cares and shares for our delight.
Beautiful blue and purple too,
Colours shine all summer through.
And overhead a cloudless sky
With woodland tree of green reach high nearby.
How did colours get their name?
I suppose it’s a part of life’s rich frame.
Colours and flowers they all play their part,
God it seems, speaks straight to the heart.
Colour, colour, everywhere,
Not a plot nor spot to spare!
Always but always, God offers us glamour
Especially richly in this flower of summer.
Lord, thank You for nature, especially flowers and the richness of colour in its wide variety. Lovingly You enrich life. Amen.
