“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3 v 6)
It is Lent.
I am penitent,
A grace heaven sent.
I acknowledge my sinfulness.
I know this causes distress.
I am genuinely sorry.
In all sincerity of heart
I repent of my wrongs.
I belong to a God of mercy,
The Holy Trinity of love.
Love helps and heals.
Love repeals the wrongs,
Heals the hurts,
Diminishes the slights.
I am given holy insight
As I pray,
Here now, today
At the beginning of Lent.
No longer will life
Be hell bent on self-centredness.
I look to the † of Jesus.
I express sorrow and remorse,
And of course, want to change.
I ask for the blessing of forgiveness,
Seeking this through Jesus.
He is all my righteousness.
I am acquitted of my foolishness
As I look to the †.
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5 v 15)
“I then, as a worker together with Him, plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain.” (2 Corinthians 6 v 1)
Let us pray.
