REDEMPTION (1)

SUE O'DONNELL. 14.04.21

“You are great and perform wonderful deeds, You alone are God.” (Psalm 86 v 10)

Redemption means our suffering has godly purpose,

An outcome resulting in an increase of holiness.

Evil is suppressed by God’s gifted holiness

At work within us, all thanks to Christ Jesus,

As His teaching is made ours to claim and live by.

This happens as we open to the influence of the Holy Spirit,

Impacting upon us to attract us to Christ Jesus.

Salvation saves us, redemption changes us,

Both are at the hands of our Father of mercy,

His undying love gifting us a Saviour and Sanctifier,

Our hope, our outreach, our faith’s trust and dependency.

We cannot experience salvation without redemption,

Just as we cannot recognise redemption without salvation.

“Listen closely to my prayer, O LORD; hear my urgent cry. I will call on You whenever I am in trouble, and You will answer me.” (Psalm 86 v 6, 7 NLT)

“No pagan god is like You, O LORD. No one can do what You can do. All the nations You made will come and bow before You, Lord; they will praise Your holy name.” (Psalm 86 v 8, 9 NLT)

Please pray for the world to recognise our redemption as an Easter people of confident faith;

Please pray for the Lord Jesus to come into our minds and hearts fully, no reserve at all;

Please pray for the fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit of love, making clear to us that salvation is only found in Christ Jesus’ victory at the †, and this is what changes us, making us a new creation intent upon becoming holy.

Please pray as a redeemed people. Amen.
