WORSHIP!

Sue O’Donnell 16.11.20

“Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” (1 Chronicles 16 v 29)

Lord Jesus, we are joyous!

You are the answer to our desire,

That wish for the highest, fullest happiness.

Hope will be satisfied eventually

For You offer us life now and eternally,

The beauty of holiness is entirely Yours,

Yet oh so mercifully, full lovingly

Is shared freely with us.

We offer all thanks for Your †.

“And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sins of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” (Isaiah 53 v 12)

However unlikely, here is Gods’ mercy.

You colour life richly in God’s wisdom and truth.

You are His covenanted promise fulfilled for us.

Whatever the problem, You provide a godly solution,

Love above all else being Your resolution.

You offer salvation to all believers,

Making us recipients of our Father’s mercy.

As God’s Word You give meaning to our suffering.

As wisdom You govern and guide us.

“...Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 1 v 24)

Love’s service ever uppermost on Your mind,

And very clearly, definitely the working of Your heart.

You start a new life in us, gifting us Your Spirit.

The Spirit of holiness is so important to us,

For He increases our consecration and veneration,

Setting our sight on the heavenly homeland.

You travel with us daily on this journey home.

We are enthralled by Your friendship,

Intrigued, excited, delighted and rewarded.

“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8 v 10)

For God is with us, we find, in You, Lord Jesus.

According to the riches of grace lavished upon us,

We are able to acknowledge His purpose

In sending You to us as the Divine Healer.

You are able to turn our hearts and minds

Back towards the Father of mercy,

For You make us Your very own in the Spirit,

Good works in progress, Your shaping being

Always and ever towards all that is holy,

All that is made virtuous comes from the Lord Jesus.

“Christian wisdom empowers all those who embrace prudence and the other moral virtues to fulfil the requirements of an integral and holy life.” (R. Cessario)

“ ‘I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge and discretion. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate.” (Proverbs 8 v 12, 13)

“Counsel is mine and sound wisdom” holy wisdom tells us, as personified by the Lord Jesus,“I am understanding, I have strength.” (Proverbs 8 v 14)Let us pray in all praise with thanksgiving then.

“My heart is steadfast O God, my heart is steadfast”, (Psalm 57 v 7) confident in the mercies of Your love for us as shown in the Lord Jesus.

“I will sing and give praise. Awake my glory!...I will awaken the dawn. I will praise You , O LORD, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations.” (v 9)

“For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clouds. Be exalted, O God,

above the heavens. Let Your glory be above all the earth.” (v 10, 11)

Thank You for the beauty of holiness we see in the Lord Jesus. May this ever be our worship, praise and thanksgiving as the Lord Jesus living in us, is the hope of glory. Amen.
