THE SURE PLEDGE OF REDEMPTION

Sue O’Donnell. 23.07.20

“Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, you people in whose heart is My law...My righteousness will be forever, and My salvation from generation to generation.” (Isaiah 51 v 8)

Declare, share the goodness of God.

Declare your belief in the Lord Jesus.

Share the best news of the gospel,

Its message of hope, of peace, of joy.

A message to be lived out daily,

For society is in urgent need of hope

And the scope of peace is to find the Lord Jesus,

He who is true life to us,

Life in all the fullness as promised.

We are intended to be citizens of heaven, Spirit led,

Our place upon earth but temporary.

“By the same Holy Spirit put Your word on to our lips and Your love in our hearts to bring good news to the poor and healing to the broken hearted. Amen.” (Source not known)

This lifetime is preparatory to later glory.

We are to live by the Christian heritage,

As gifted us by our identity in Christ Jesus,

A life meant not to be diminished by sin.

Christ and His Eucharist is meant to be

First and foremost shaping our new identity.

For this is the faith that conquers all that is evil,

All that the devil lures us by, deceives us with.

Faith in Christ Jesus gives us the truth to live by.

He proceeds from the Father, by the Holy Spirit,

Living and dying for the forgiveness of our sinfulness.

“Lord, I believe in You; increase my faith. I trust in You; strengthen my trust. I love You; let me love You more and more. I am sorry for my sins; deepen my sorrow....Amen.” (“The Universal Prayer” Pope Clement XI)

We are called to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Love grants that what we ask for in faith,

We may certainly obtain through Christ Jesus, our Saviour.

Our Brother feeds us on the Bread of Life, His body.

The Lord Jesus cleanses us through His blood,

Shed for us on the †that our sins be redeemed.

This acceptable sacrifice is for our good.

Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.

What compassion of mercy does refashion us in Jesus.

Peace, hope and joy can reign supreme in the love of Jesus.

We offer then all our praise and thanksgiving.

“O God, our Father, we thank You for this Your own day (Sunday and everyday)... We thank You for this day’s rest...worship...Your church...fellowship....teaching...guidance for life....the reading of Your word, preaching of Your truth...singing of Your praise, prayers ...sacraments of Your grace. Amen.” (William Barclay)

Made saints in Christ Jesus, we offer You Father, all our honour,

For You have gifted us Your Son as our Saviour,

His body and blood are offered up for us,

A holy and perpetual sacrifice given in perfect love.

The new and eternal covenant for the forgiveness of sins,

Has now been ratified, that You be glorified, our forgiveness justified.

What love is this that redeems us at the †,

That we are filled with holy grace and every heavenly blessing.

As we are pardoned and redeemed to become holy.

All glory ever be to the almighty Trinity,

As the peace of the Lord Jesus is ever with us.

“Blessed are those called to the Supper of the Lamb.” (Spoken during the Celebration of Mass)

“Lord, only say the word and my soul shall be healed.” (Prayed during the Celebration of Mass)

Let us pray that we no longer, nor will ever be separated from the Lord Jesus Christ, Saviour of the entire world. Amen.
