THE HOPE OF ALL THE WORLD

SUE O'DONNELL. 31.03.21

“ ‘Look at My Servant, whom I have chosen. He is My Beloved, who pleases Me’.” (Matthew 12 v 18 NLT)

Lord Jesus, our adoration, veneration, consecration,

You are life in all fullness, that of holiness.

We extol and exalt You, through Your Spirit,

Increasing our awareness of the significance of holiness.

We bow before You to offer worship to our Father.

We have nothing of ourselves to bring to the altar,

But will sing of Your praises now and forever, Savour Lord.

Lord Jesus, God’s way opened up as we pray.

Lord Jesus, God’s truth redirecting our thoughts,

So we no longer be caught in the tangled web

Of satanic deceit, lies, interference, often trickery.

In You, by the Holy Spirit, is our liberty.

It is Lent, a time spent to focus on forgiveness.

Forgiveness is God’s gracious mercy gifted freely, totally undeserved.

Neither is forgiveness merited, for we are sinful.

Some will say ‘There is no escape from this.

It is just as life is.’ What a sad and sorry state!

When we turn to God’s love shown in Christ Jesus,

Making this our daily focus, we understand

The command to love will dismantle the lie.

This is why Lent is a special time to repent,

To say, pray in all sincerity, owning up to faults and to failures.

With remorse of course, resolved to do better in the future.

This is made possible in the Lord Jesus’ friendship,

Praying and working for the perfection of the holiness He shares with us.

With loving care, the Holy Spirit supports us,

Guides, chides, corrects and reforms us frequently.

Repentance is a journey, making good progress

Because we rely upon the friendship of Christ Jesus, our Saviour.

“ ‘I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He will proclaim justice to the nation’.” (Matthew 12 v 18 NLT)

This is to shape and determine the way forwards,

Acting with love sincerely, living to be entirely holy.

The Son of God loved us so much, He accepted the †.

He gave His life for our forgiveness.

Now we must give ourselves back to Him.

As we repent and say ‘I am truly sorry.

I want to make amends daily.

Please send Your Spirit to help me accomplish

That very holiness I see in You, Lord Jesus.’

This is our hope, our only hope for the future.

A future where holy love is the foundation,

The cornerstone of the building the church on earth,

Being the Healer Saviour Himself, our Brother, a Saviour.

For this purpose of holiness, He lives within us,

His Spirit teaches us to keep our feet firmly fixed

Upon the Lord Jesus’ Kingdom of love upon earth,

Whilst always reaching forwards for the blessing

Of the eternal company of the holy, heavenly Trinity.

This is our faith’s confident reality.

Lord Jesus, our admiration, supplication, destination,

Granting us the joy of claiming the Almighty as ‘Abba’ ‘Father’.

What more could we want or need upon earth in heaven?

Nothing! For to know the Father is to go to the Son

And name Him ‘Christ Jesus’ the Divine Healer,

Our Redeemer, our Restorer, according to the working of the Holy Spirit.

What merit as our faith is strengthened, developed, emboldened.

How then do we address our Brother who is our Saviour?

Christ Jesus, our hope, our peace, our joy from above,

The One who offers us true love and forgiveness.

“How precious is Your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of Your wings.” (Psalm 36 v 7 NLT)

“I will exalt You, LORD, for You have rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me. O LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You restored my help. You brought me up from the grave, O LORD. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.” (Psalm 30 v 1, 2, 3 NLT)

Please pray for the salvation of the world, as won for us by Christ Jesus on the † gaining forgiveness for all sinfulness, holy mercy being powerfully at work.

The facts are historical and verifiable. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to illuminate all hearts and minds to the merciful love of our Father, as won for us by Christ Jesus.

“He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. Finally He will cause justice to be victorious.” (Matthew 12 v 20 NLT)

Please pray asking that “His name will be the hope of all the world.” (Matthew 12 v 21 NLT) Amen.
