SUE O'DONNELL. 15.04.21
“By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger…But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved.” (Ephesians 2 v 3, 4, 5 NLT)
All will be well because of a victory
As won for us by Christ Jesus at the †.
He overcomes sin for us to begin again.
Without mercy this would not be a possibility.
We must trust in the reality facing us,
God is rich in mercy, gifting us a Saviour.
In our Brother, we find true love direct from heaven above.
True love, healing love is being offered us.
Christ Jesus waits in readiness, so too does the Spirit.
Our task is to pray to seek and find mercy.
“O LORD, if You heal me, I will be truly healed; if You save me, I will be truly saved.” (Jeremiah 17 v 14 NLT)
Mercy which is holy provides a ransom for us.
We should be condemned to die, we deserve punishment,
For our sins of waywardness, our rebelliousness.
But our Father’s mercy gifts us a Saviour in Christ Jesus,
That we experience not condemnation, but salvation.
Salvation results in redemption which changes us.
Because redemption alters our outlook, our understanding and our appreciation.
When the Holy Spirit impacts upon us,
He reclaims us for Christ Jesus, bringing wisdom and truth
To the forefront of our heart, mind, will and conscience.
“The LORD is my Shepherd; I have all that I need…He guides me along right paths, bringing honour to His name.” (Psalm 23 v 1, 3 NLT)
“Surely goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.” (Psalm 23 v 6 NLT)
Let us offer all thanks for:
Gaining a Forever Saviour delivering us from sin and death;
Accessing the throne of mercy;
Being able to claim and name Christ Jesus as Saviour;
Being open to the Holy Spirit who continues the process of redemption after the salvation won for us at the †;
An effort towards thanksgiving “Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High.” (Psalm 50 v 14);
“Giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honours Me. If you keep to My path, I will reveal to you the salvation of God.” (v 23);
New life is made ours through Christ Jesus’ name, as we open our heart and mind to the Holy Spirit of love;
We are released from the prison of sin, suffering and punishment;
Justice means we are made righteous in God’s eyes by Christ Jesus;
He has ransomed us at the † without our indemnity being lost;
“I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God,” (Psalm 52 v 8);
“I will praise You forever, O God, for what You have done”(v 9) by our salvation and redemption;
Our Father reclaims us through holiness as our sinfulness is put behind us, when the Holy Spirit convinces us of the rescue available in the freedom Christ Jesus wins for us, as blood bought children, blessed to be made holy;
“God will redeem my life. He will snatch me from the power of the grave.” (Psalm 49 v 15) Amen.
