“If our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.”
1 John 3 v 21
God cares.
God shares.
God dares to show His love.
Why else His prophecies as preparation?
Why else His promises as declaration?
Why else the † as remuneration?
The †of Jesus a dedication,
Is proof that the love of God exists.
“Many are they who say of me, ‘There is no help for him (her) in God.’ But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head.”
Psalm 3 v 2, 3
The † is the unlikely symbol
Of all God’s authority over evil.
That which we cannot fully understand,
Is God’s command of love, His self offering.
A total love.
A complete love.
A self-giving love.
We meet God through love.
“By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”
1 John 3 v 16
Love is God’s power, our hope.
Love is God’s direction, our scope.
Love is God’s connection, our delight.
The best insight to God comes through love.
Love of family, friend, brother, sister.
Love of each other without division.
Love is a decision.
“...through love serve one another.”
Galatians 5 v 13
God cares for us in Jesus.
God shares with us in Jesus.
God dares to show His love in Jesus.
Find Jesus and you find love at work.
Love is a process,
Growing ever stronger through action.
Action undertaken based on prayer,
Prayer offered with our declaration, dedication and devotion.
Turn to Jesus and see what will happen.
“This is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.”
1 John 3 v 23
“The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.”
Isaiah 32 v 17
Dearest Father, I thank and praise You for the hope, the peace, the joy we experience in turning to Jesus as our Saviour Brother. “It is good to give thanks to You LORD, and to sing praises of Your name, O Most High; to declare Your loving kindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night...For You, LORD, have made me glad
through Your work,” (Psalm 92 v 1, 2, 4) especially that of the † of the Lord Jesus. “I will triumph in the works of Your hands.” (Cont.) I ask You to keep me praying, ever turning to Jesus as Lord of all holiness.
I thank and praise You for the grace of Your generous, self offering love. I have come to understand that Christian faith and prayer place us in a most privileged position as we “...now live in Christ Jesus, at one with Him.” (1 Corinthians 1 v 30 The Truth) I am sorry when I impair this oneness and I ask to do better. May I pray more fervently and persevere in all that Your Spirit makes holy. May I be ever open to the Holy Spirit of loving wisdom, correction and guidance. I do not want to block out the Spirit.
I thank and praise You, heavenly Father for all the blessed work of Your Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus who comes to us as Teacher Cleanser Sanctifier. I thank You that I have learned that “Jesus Himself has become for us who believe the true wisdom that You, Lord God
supplied. He is our righteousness. He is our holiness. He is our redemption, the One who has made it possible for us to be Your children.” (based on v 30 The Truth) I praise You for this privilege and honour, this new start, this sanctified grace. To know, love, honour and serve You is the highest happiness for it is the outcome of Your love at work.
“ ‘I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart’,” (Psalm 40 v 8) although I realise this is a lifelong process. Please keep my faith constant, alert, praying and praising, offering service and witnessing, honouring You as a Trinity of love and worshipping. “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree.” (Psalm 92 v 12) May I see this happen in my life, in my family’s life. “They shall still bear fruit in old age.” (v 14) I ask for this to happen, “To declare LORD that You are upright; You are my rock and there is no unrighteousness in You.” (based on v 15)
I praise and thank You that we can seek to be righteous in the Lord Jesus, praying and asking for
His blessing, then persevering to work towards this virtue. Yes it is a long process. “Iniquities prevail against me,” (Psalm 65 v 3) some of my own doing. I am so sorry for my faults and failings. I praise and thank You, holy Lord, that “You will provide atonement for them.” (Cont.)May I ever look to the † of the Lord Jesus. “Blessed is the (wo)man You choose, and cause to approach You, that (s)he may dwell in Your courts.” (v4)
I thank and praise You for the most precious, prized, invaluable gift of faith and prayer. “We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, of Your holy temple.” (Psalm 65 v 4) “Because Your loving kindness is better than life,” (v3) it is constant, continuous, generous, just, merciful, compassionate, all giving, patient, tolerant, a true and ever faithful love, an immense, intense, life changing love, “My lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.” (Cont to v 4) Your name Lord God, holy Father, is true love, a total love, a self offering love. “My mouth shall praise You with joyful lips,” (v5) daily I hope.
I thank and praise You for the special times of day when we turn to You in prayer and find our faith thereby strengthened, deepened, empowered, embolden ed. Prayer affirms our friendship. Prayer becomes a priority and the bedrock of our service. Prayer carries a deep intensity with both a personal meaning and an honouring of the body of Christ upon earth, Your church, Lord God. Prayer is both individual and corporate and equally blessed. Prayer is an expression of loving thanksgiving, an outlet for our gratitude. Prayer is truly life enhancing. Oh how grateful I am.
I thank and praise You that I can say with growing confidence, “I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more. My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and Your salvation all the day, for I do not know their limits. I will go in Your strength, Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness of Yours only,” (based on Psalm 71 v 16) as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
To know the Trinity is to know and be blessed by the holy power of Your love. “I will praise You and Your faithfulness O my God,” (v 22) for You never give up on us.
“My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, and my soul which You have redeemed. My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long.” (Psalm 71 v 23, 24) I praise and thank You for the † of the Lord Jesus where we find the reality of Your loving forgiveness. “Let all
those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; and let those who love Your salvation say continually ‘Let God be magnified’,” (Psalm 71 v 4) glorified, honoured, thanked, praised, adored. May we do this as we turn towards the Lord Jesus, Saviour of the world. May our prayer be the daily, happy connection between heaven and earth.
I praise and thank You for Your love, for Your gift of life, a life replenished and blessed by Jesus, Your Son, holy Father, that we know fullness of life now and reach our destiny in heaven. To You, Lord God, be all the warmest praise, highest honour and fullest glory in all peoples turning to faith and prayer, to witness and worship, to the joy of Your service offered in Jesus. “In His days the righteous shall flourish, and abundance of peace...” (Psalm 72 v 7) for it is in our Saviour Brother we first recognise love at work in order to bless us. “Prayer also will be made for Him continually and daily He shall be praised,” (v 15) for His love at work.
I praise and thank You “...that, as it is written, (s)he who glories, let him (or her) glory in the LORD,” (1 Corinthians 1 v 3l) and this is made possible in Jesus. Faith finds its work in the holiness of Jesus,
our redemption, salvation and restoration to all grace and favour. What a blessing and encouragement this is as we learn of You, from You, dearest Father, through Your Son and Your Spirit. Please enter our mind and heart, our will and intention, our decisions and actions, each day in prayer, then may our witness be Your love at work.
I praise and thank You that we can “Preach Christ crucified... to those who are called... Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.”
(1 Corinthians 1 v 23, 24) In Your love, Lord, remember us as we turn to Jesus. May we all come to know this truth, this fullness of vibrant life. Lord Jesus, You are our opportunity to reflect the steadfast loving kindness we are so blessed to receive. Life is made whole in Your love. Do not let us forsake You, not forget You, not fail You. Cause us to pray to You, through You, with You. May we all become a part of the forgiveness we have received, that the world around us knows the holy power of Your love, the grace and favour of God, realised as we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Dearest Father, I praise and thank You for the inestimable benefit of knowing Your Son as our Redeemer Saviour Restorer as Your Spirit teaches us, leads us on the pathway home. May the Holy Redeemer Saviour Restorer as Your Spirit teaches us, leads us on the pathway home. May the Holy Spirit always empower us to give witness to the holy power of love, to worship, to offer service according to whatever it is You ask of us. May the Spirit help our prayer to be introspective that we make progress in all the ways of holiness ever turning to the example of Jesus.
Lord God, I thank and praise You that You make Your Son the recognisable reference point for us. For prayer convinces us that “...the grace You show us Lord, holy Father, and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.” (based on Romans 5 v 15) It is in the Lord Jesus, in His righteousness, in the love we are so blessed to receive, we gain new life, fresh hope, a real purpose in daily service. How wonderful it is to be chosen for this!
“I pray that out of Your glorious riches You may strengthen us with power through Your Spirit in our inner being,” (based on Ephesians 3 v 16) that we see love at work in us, through us, all of us. Holy Spirit, Lord of life, please help us to deal with our self centredness and self preoccupation. As You breathe on us and teach us how to pray, strengthen our efforts to live in the holiness of Jesus. May His Spirit ever guard us in body, mind and spirit, that we live fully to Your glory, Lord God, holy Father. Let there be no distractions nor diversions. Keep us serving wholeheartedly, spreading the gospel message of love. May our life and love ever be fully shaped in Jesus, in the Spirit of Jesus, to be Your love at work. Amen.
