“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119 v 105)
Our relationship with the Lord Jesus
Is as a result of our Father’s determined purpose
And the working of the amazing Holy Spirit,
Investing much time, thought and energy
Into us, into transforming our life by the friendship of Christ Jesus.
Love must then respond to love,
The Spirit of love, come from above,
That we move through life together with our Saviour Brother. We have to trust in this happening,
Recognising His presence through love’s intention.
“You, O LORD are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head.” (Psalm 3 v 3)
The resolve as well as firm intention
To mention the name of Jesus whenever we can,
Is always for the purpose of gaining holiness.
We become stronger together with Jesus in us.
For His presence, by the Spirit is love, perfect love.
The love that conquers doubt, fear and mistrust.
The love which must act and attract
All according to the highest name of Jesus.
We have to approach our Father by faith in Jesus.
We must hand ourself over to God’s mercy.
“Rejoice the soul of Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. For You, Lord, are good and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.” (Psalm 86 v 4, 5)
Praying and allowing His infinite goodness, the power of Jesus which is holy love,
To save and sanctify us, the followers of Jesus.
God is in us, with us, amongst us. in Jesus.
Everything changes when we realise this,
Opening ourselves up as widely as love makes possible.
Faith is the lens through which we see Jesus.
The Holy Spirit holds the camera up to life.
Our Father is glimpsed in love manifested in Jesus.
A soul that has knowledge and experience
Of the pure love of Christ Jesus knows this.
“The steps of a good (wo)man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his (her) way. Though (s)he fall, (s)he shall not be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholds him (her) with His hand.” (Psalm 37 v 23, 24)
This soul has an awakened spirit open to love.
Love in all its daily, holy power of insistence.
Love is the beginning, the journey, the finality of our faith.
Love transforms all of life, even our suffering, Seeing this as an offering made for salvation’s purposes,
As is the life, death and resurrection of Christ Jesus.
Look at the source of life and you find love.
A love that longs to give, to share of itself.
This love redeems, refines and purifies our soul,
Opening us up to the Spirit of love in Jesus, continuously.
“Vows made to You are binding upon me, O God; I will render praises to You. For You have delivered my soul from death. Have You not kept my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?” (Psalm 56 v 13)
This happens more and more and increasingly more, as we pray Ever looking to the Lord Jesus’ loving tenderness,
Coming from His divine heart of love for us.
What we must do is to place ourselves
In the all loving, life giving heart of love,
Which personifies the Lord Jesus’ holy personality.
We have to place all of ourselves with openness
To the holy will of our Saviour Brother,
That our oneness with God is ever enhanced,
As our firmest, highest, strongest Spirit led intention.
“Happy are the people who are in such a state, happy are the people whose God is the LORD!” (Psalm 144 v 15)
“I will extol You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever.” (Psalm 145 v 1, 2)
Dearest Father, You are preparing us throughout life for the fuller life beyond the grave. May we all become willing, hard working, ever industrious pupils under the leadership of the Lord Jesus, being ever open to the faith building Spirit of our holiness.
Let us be keen disciples, longing to become as like the Lord Jesus as is possible in all aspects of our everyday life. It is all too easy to have this resolve, but fall at the first hurdle.
May the Spirit prevent our errors by helping us to pray and persevere in all the ways of godliness. We must strive to maintain and extend God’s kingdom on earth as set up by Jesus.
I ask that we develop such a strong friendship with the Lord Jesus, this is most fruitful in His service, ever proclaiming the fame of His name as Saviour Redeemer, the ever living Word of God.
We must grow in our faith day by prayer led day. Fill us then dearest Father, with Your Spirit, as made available to us by the Lord Jesus’ sacrificial death, His rising to new life and return to heaven as He ascended.
May all of mankind come to grasp this truth and thereby experience a life of love in all its holy power, its goodness, its kindness, its wisdom, its strength, the Holy Spirit forming a likeness to the Lord Jesus.
Holy Spirit Lord, holy Jesus, God’s living Word, inspire us by holiness that all we desire, plan, do and say be holy. Counsel us, guard us, guide us into all holiness for we cannot accomplish this left to our own devices.
It is by discovering or re-discovering the Lord Jesus in our midst, we can radiate His love to all that we meet. In so doing, may others ask ‘What is different here?’ In finding the answer is the love of Christ Jesus, inspire them to seek to share in such love.
Holy Spirit of love, make all our actions holy, and please strengthen our faith so we guard what is holy, promote holiness and always live by this way, which is the way of the Lord Jesus.
As the Lord Jesus is our worship, let us offer all our prayer and praises to You Father God, through Your Son, the perfectly holy Man, the reverently obedient Son, our Redeemer longing to restore us to holiness.
Father, we would delight and honour You in this way. This is our intention as we strive to serve You through the Saviour and Master, He who is fullness of life to us, as we receive forgiveness for sinfulness.
May the Holy Spirit firm up our intention by teaching us to pray without ceasing, always rejoicing, even in the face of setbacks and failures. Let these become stepping stones to an even stronger faith.
Let us ever express our praise and thanksgiving for all the glories unfolding in lives well spent in the service of Jesus. “Happy are His followers, the people who are in such a state, happy are the people whose God is the LORD!” (Psalm 144 v 15) Amen.
