“What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?” Psalm 8 v 4
The answer is we are all precious to the Lord God.
Ignite then, a passion for the lonely and lost, the outcast,
And those possessed entirely by worldliness.
Pray for a coming revival in knowing the Lord Jesus.
It is the route to mankind’s survival.
We have to learn the correct way to live.
So let us pray to call down the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit aligns us to the sacred heart of Jesus,
That very place where the lonely, the lost, and the worldly,
Are sincerely sought to be brought back to safety.
When committed to the loving heart of the Lord Jesus,
We begin to see a difference in society,
As co-operatively we seek to do His will.
The will of our Brother is for us to love sincerely,
That through this love, by its undoubted power,
We become safely linked with the Holy Trinity.
“The floods of ungodliness made me afraid …The snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried out to my God.” Psalm 18 v 4, 5, 6
Praying is to be upholding a strong, fruitful, reliable Christian community,
There, where the love of God is openly shared.
Anybody, everybody can prosper spiritually,
And that, eventually, is what really matters.
The true love is the full love our Father has for us,
Shared through the merits of the Lord Jesus,
His perfect love for us, even to accepting the †.
The †is the loss of our sinfulness, healed by merciful forgiveness.
Cleansed by forgiveness, life is made anew
Through the self-giving love of the Lord Jesus,
Set upon gaining us for citizenship of His kingdom on earth,
The place where love rules in holy authority,
That glorious be God’s name in all the earth.
As a society we are called to glory in God’s perfect love,
Wonder being the wellspring of praise,
Prayers offered to silence the adversary.
“Keep us as the apple of Your eye; hide us under the shadow of Your wings, from the wicked who oppress us, from the deadly enemies who surround us.” Psalm 17 v 8, 9 the singular invocation changed to plural
“We will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall we be saved from our enemies.” Psalm 18 v 3 the singular changed to plural
Lord, by the power of Your Spirit, teach us to love each other in the same way as You have loved us, by sending the Lord Jesus to be our Saviour and Master. He is Your living Word, so longing to inspire us.
Psalm 17 v 1, 2 changed to a plural invocation “Give ear to our prayer which is not from deceitful lips,” but sincerely offered seeking Your help. “Let our vindication come from Your presence” for without this we are helpless. “Let Your eyes look on the things that are upright.”
Fill us with a true love for You, which is shown by our love for each other, as we are all made in Your likeness and image, which is to be honoured and respected at all times
based on Psalm 8 v 5 Forgive please our self-centredness which impairs this respect for each other, seeking selfish gain both in word and by our actions. “What are we that You should keep us in mind?” We all are Your beloved children for whom You want the very best in life.
But we have spoiled this through injustice, meanness, unfairness, hostility, enmity of all sorts. I am sorry, truly sorry for the godless state of much of society. Please send Your purifying Spirit to right the wrongs, helping us, inspiring us to get serious about the many needs of the lonely, the lost and the outcast.
Matthew 25 v 45 “ ‘In as much as you did not do it to any one of the least of these’,”- or, in other words, did not help to ease their plight - “ ‘You did not do it to me’.” This is a serious condemnation of our selfishness, our lack of charity.
There has to be outward evidence to proclaim the difference the Holy Spirit has made to us, the impact resulting in striving after godliness in all we think, desire, decide, say and do, as good character produces godly results when we give our life to the Lord Jesus.
Let us somehow stage a rescue attempt on all who are destitute in any way, by proclaiming the gospel message of love which gives rise to hope, to peace and to joy, by living this out in our everyday.
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts and minds of all who are followers of the Lord Jesus. Help us please, working under His command to love, Your inspiration to do so and our Father’s will, that this happens, enabling us to change the world, one person at a time.
Be in our ideas, efforts, application. Fund our resources, develop our skills and devote our time and energy in whichever way we are each called to serve according to our natural God given gifting, talents and skills. Open up opportunities for us, then keep us faithful to the cause.
We need please, Your gifts of wisdom, knowledge, understanding, counsel, fortitude, piety and reverence, all put to best use in the service of the Lord Jesus. Make us tireless in our efforts and successful in the godly value added to life. May we do this by abandoning the call to self service, looking instead to serve the Master.
We cannot live properly unless we desire, pray and work to become more like the Lord Jesus, loving towards everybody at all times. Grant us the grace for this to happen through our insistent application of all love’s principles.
Breathe on us Holy Spirit of God, to make our thoughts holy, entirely given to and driven by the power of Your love, which is so fruitful, for it is full of patient, gentle kindness, not a trace of envy, nor jealousy, with no hostility at all, as the peace we offer is the peace the Lord Jesus gifts us, restored to our Father’s every blessing by forgiveness.
As we have received mercy, let us be merciful. As we have experienced love, let us be loving, ever thinking of the high standards the Lord Jesus sets for us. His example is the way we must live by for life to be prosperous for all. As He is holy, being filled by You, make us holy too.
Malachi 3 v 10 “ ‘Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this our Father says to us ‘If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”
There is no shortage of any godly provision, but we have to pray to call down the blessing upon those in need. The Lord Jesus tells us we have to ask to receive. Let us then ask on behalf of those who as yet, cannot ask for themselves because they do not know to do so, or how to do this, or have simply lost heart in life completely.
v 11 There is more than enough to go round fairly. And we are promised “ ‘I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes’,” satan who has got his claw into anybody living a godless existence where sorrow, sadness and difficulty, even disaster, reign.
Lord, forgive us that we have allowed this state of affairs to develop. Accept please our repentance and resolve to turn the situation around as best we each can. Do not withhold Your favour from us, thereby life being robbed of Your blessing.
Holy Spirit Lord, teach us which blessings to pray for, whom we must ask for, when and where problem and pain dictates our reaction. May satan not disrupt nor stop this happening because we claim our allegiance to the Lord of Life, the Master of love, the Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus.
Galatians 6 v 8 “(S)he who sins to his (her) flesh will of the flesh reap corruption” so please safeguard and guide us Holy Spirit, Life Giver. “And let us not grow weary while doing good…” not at all, not even for an instance, “For in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” v 9.
v 10 Let us reap a harvest of lives won for the Lord Jesus, by us living out the gospel message of love, “As we have opportunity, let us do good to all…”, always praying believing in prayers’ effectiveness as “…when you pray, believe that you receive, and you will have’.” Even if we cannot do anything practically, we can pray. Mark 11 v 24.
Holy Spirit, Lord, however tough the challenges we face, let us not lose heart, but turn to You asking for wisdom and discernment as to what to do. You are the Spirit of Blessing, thank You so much for Your help which is ever inspiring, encouraging and uplifting, enabling us, when guided by You, to help others come to faith in the Lord Jesus, seeking prayerfully to live life in Him, supported by You.
What a very different place the world would then be, could then be. As You reveal the love of the Lord Jesus to us, activate us to serve with commitment to Him, to His love which never ever will fails us, for this power of holy love knows no boundaries, it cannot be limited except by sin.
As our faith extends prayer by prayer filled day, let the reach of our love become wider. Make us please successful in all we undertake in the name of Jesus’ profound love for us, the perfection and reflection of our Father’s mercy. I ask for all of these blessings in the name of the One who seeks to save all of us and will, if we but co-operate fully.
Ignite us, Holy Spirit, Lord, ignite us with a love for the Lord Jesus which is impassioned about helping all who are in need. Enable us to do so through the perfection of love and mercy which so richly benefits us. Forge us into one team working well with the Trinity at the head, and thus the harvest, Your harvest will be rich indeed. Thank You for all the help we are given. Amen.
