“ ‘We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God’.”
Acts 14 v 22
“But now, thus says the LORD, who created you...and formed you... ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name, you are Mine’.”
Isaiah 43 v 1
Faith is knowing and expressing this offer dearest Father, as we turn to Your Son and call upon His Spirit. It is in Jesus we find a realistic hope for a better, brighter, holier future for all of mankind, as we look to the triumph secured at the † of Jesus. “And in that day we will say: ‘O LORD, I will praise You; though You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me’.” (based on Isaiah 12 v 1)Thank You for all the blessings of faith and prayer discovered and experienced in the Spirit of Jesus. Never, ever let us block the Spirit at work but call upon the promise “ ‘ I will put My Spirit in you...’” (Ezekiel 37 v 14)
“ ‘Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid, for YAH, the LORD, is my strength and my song; He has also become my salvation’.” (Isaiah 12 v 2) I have learned this through the gospel message lived out in Jesus, brought about by the Spirit. Faith is so beneficial to our personal well being and that of society as a whole. I praise and thank You dearest Father, for the revelation made by Jesus. It is in His healing love and restorative power we now live with faith, graced by the teaching Spirit.
“Therefore with joy we will draw water from the well of salvation. And in that day,” (based on Isaiah 12 v 4) when we experience the Lord Jesus’ love for ourself, His real presence in today’s world, in that day “We will say: ‘Praise the LORD, call upon His name; declare His deeds among the peoples. Make mention that His name is exalted.” (based on v 4, 5) Let us broadcast the good news that Jesus is our Brother Saviour Restorer to grace and favour.
“Sing to the Lord, for He has done excellent things,” (Isaiah 12 v 5) causing us to worship as we venerate the † of the Lord Jesus. “This is known in all the earth,” (Cont.) as often as we proclaim the love of Jesus, honour His name and claim the blessed work of His Spirit, Your co-equal Spirit, dearest Father of all. Our fullness of life, a life blessed by holiness, a life given current meaning and an eternal purpose, all of this is found in Jesus as Lord. “Cry out and shout ...for great is the Holy One of Israel in our midst’!” (based on v 6)
Jesus is our sacramental presence, the link between His body, the Church on earth and the promise of heaven. “Let us keep the flame of faith alive through prayer and the sacraments: let us make sure we do not forget God.” (Pope Francis) Let us live out, spread about, give witness to the gospel message of the hope, the peace and the joy we find in the person and presence of Jesus. May we ever desire to worship in Jesus, the revelation of truth, the truth of God’s love for us we must live by.
Lord God, holy Father, “You alone are the LORD, You made the heavens ...the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitude of heaven worship You.” (Nehemiah 9 v 6 NIV) And the most effective way we can do this is through our faith in Jesus, our worship offered in Him. May we ever express a heartfelt praise for all the grace and favour won for us in the person of Jesus because of His sacrifice upon the †.
“Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable,” (Psalm 145 v 3) in all its completeness, yet it is made clear to us in many a way as we turn to Jesus. Jesus is the power of holy love made real to us, effected by the Holy Spirit’s teaching and instruction. May we ever seek this through prayer. Let us ask to understand the fullness of life Jesus came to offer each and every one of us. May we respond in faith through prayer offered in the truly amazing, life giving name of Jesus as Lord, the Messiah, the anointed One, the Saviour, our Jesus, Restorer to faith through prayer. Faith finds its worship in Jesus.
May we find our answer to all of life’s troubles and tribulations in the power of holy love so evident in Jesus. “ ‘Today salvation has come...for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost’.”(Luke 19 v 9, 10) Let us then respond to this mission, turning to Jesus with conviction, taking action in His name. May we have confidence in the promise of Jesus, “ ‘Your faith has saved you. Go in peace’.” (Luke 7 v 50) Our praise offering and thanksgiving must be made through Jesus as Lord, the living Word of God.
How life changing it is to know the Son of God, to live according to His principles, to call upon His Spirit’s power. Fear, doubt, dismay, disbelief disappear, to be replaced by insight and understanding, fresh revelation and new dedication, an eternal and joyful meaning and purpose opened out in the everyday life of faith. We come fully alive as we turn to Jesus, inspired and empowered by His Spirit of love. Dedication to faith is sourced and strengthened in Jesus.
We are enabled to follow the teaching which says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3 v 5, 6)
We learn that this happens through Jesus as we open to the Holy Spirit’s blessed work. All this work is wonderful, beautiful, marvellously life transforming and restorative. Lord Jesus, You put right what is wrong with us and between us. And You do this with such loving kindness, the mark of Your Kingdom here upon earth. Thank You. I praise You.
Father, may we all seek Your truth and holiness through Jesus our Lord, our Saviour, our Redeemer. May we turn to You through Your co-equal Spirit. Forgive our slowness in coming to faith, in failing to pray. Let us no longer live in darkness, all our self centred, self absorbed ways. May we turn to Jesus in faith, with hope fulfilled in prayer, ever working towards Your promised Kingdom, Lord God.
I am sorry for all the times I fail You in this. I ask to do better. “Since I am surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let me lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares me, and let me run with endurance the race that is set before me, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross...” (Hebrews 12 v 1, 2 personalised) I know that we are to share in this joy under the influence, connection and guidance of the Holy Spirit of Jesus. I seek to do this increasingly.
I praise and thank You, Father, that faith is Your divine help, healing, direction, revelation, wisdom, guidance, assurance, encouragement and endurance offered in the spirit of Jesus. Dispose us towards faith in Jesus as Saviour. May we trust in all He reveals to us. May we rely upon the victory of the †, seeing that all the truth of Your mercy, Your forgiveness, Your steadfast loving kindness are offered in the person of Jesus. Let His presence in our daily life be the persuasion we need to turn to faith and pray. Faith has to find its answers in Jesus and we need to seek to become more like Him.
May the Holy Spirit of Jesus be our faith’s inspiration and guidance at all times. May holiness grow as we work to understand the Kingdom of love, each doing whatever we can. Father of new beginnings, let us turn to You through Your Son and Your Spirit, in whom we find hope, peace and joy in Your presence. “Let our chief end, O God be to glorify Thee, and to enjoy Thee forever.” (based on a prayer of John Calvin 1509-1564) Please help us to do this by seeking the love and life of Jesus, that which is taught and brought by Your Spirit. Do not let us lose sight of Jesus, but increase please, the gift of faith which You have so richly blessed us by. Sanctify and increase in us all that is virtuous as we emulate the love of Jesus.
“Blessed is the (wo)man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his (or her) delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law (s)he meditates day and night. (S)he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in season, whose leaf shall not wither, and whatever (s)he does shall prosper.” (Psalm 1 v 1, 2, 3) Thank You for this promise. We find the fulfilment in Jesus. May, we ever hold faith in Jesus and thereby extend Your kingdom to all the four corners of the earth, Lord God.
I ask this in the name of Your Son, the One who leads us into all holiness. “Many are the plans in a (wo)man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” (Proverbs 19 v 21 NIV) To the Trinity be ever the glory as we commit to Jesus as Lord, as Your living Word of Truth, Father, as the gift of the love and mercy we are to live by. “Every Christian is a missionary to the extent that he or she bears witness to God’s love. Be missionaries of God’s tenderness.” (Pope Francis) Let us call out and live by the blessings of faith which shapes life in Jesus. Faith is fulfilled in Jesus. Praise and glory ever be. Amen.
