“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16 v 31
Conversion which is holy, led by the Spirit,
Is a diversion away from all that is worldly.
The Holy Spirit works zealously towards this.
All He asks of us is an open heart,
And a willing mind wanting to find
How to change our life for the better,
Thus seeing the need of a Saviour.
The Holy Spirit introduces us to the Lord Jesus therefore.
He has a full store of holiness
Which He as God’s Word, delights to share with us.
Conversion is turning in another direction,
Asking the Holy Spirit to be the inspection we need
Of ungracious and unconscious, hidden ideas and agendas.
He will ask us to look more closely at Jesus’ example,
For this is of the highest, fullest quality.
Jesus lived and died to please our Father entirely.
Jesus will live in us if the Spirit invites this.
The Spirit wishes to make our heart and mind pliable,
Biddable to seek and find God’s will and way
As revealed to us by Jesus, as we pray.
Conversion needs to be accomplished radically.
Therefore it is a daily task to ask for help,
Or we set ourselves up to fall at the first hurdle.
Conversion is our immersion in the love Jesus offers us,
Brought and taught by the Spirit of holiness,
Our Father awaiting this conversion, sincerely seeking us in Jesus.
He wants us to be perfectly holy, just as He is.
For this very reason, our Father will ask the Holy Spirit
To be our diversion, the conversion to Jesus’ way of living.
Conversion is an outpouring of God’s grace,
A turning around and changing direction entirely,
To become the very best we can be, blessed by Jesus.
This is an interior process the Holy Spirit counsels.
We cannot do better than this, listening and learning from Him.
Conversion is when we throw ourselves upon God’s mercy,
Dependent entirely on the Spirit enabling us
To live afresh in the Lord Jesus, living His way,
Striving to obey the call to daily holiness prayerfully.
Then the blessings flow immeasurably, often quickly.
Conversion is our serious attempt to jettison all worldliness,
Committing anew through the Spirit, praying about this,
Asking of the Lord Jesus, that He will live in us.
“Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1 v 27
“…many are called, but few chosen.” Matthew 20 v 16
O Lord, we need conversion. Please send Your Spirit of faith to enable this, for His primary purpose is always to draw us close to the Lord Jesus, as Saviour, Your Word of life and promise of fullness of life.
1 John 4 v 3, 7 “In your past life you spent enough time doing what unbelievers do… living in ungodliness… The end of things is drawing near. Therefore you need to think clearly and be self-controlled in the way you live, for then you can pray effectively.” We have been warned!
Come, Holy Spirit, help us to pray. Still our racing thoughts. Let them be caught up instead in a sense of the Lord Jesus’ presence with us, infilled by His love.
Here is the power to set us free from worry and doubt, which arise daily from all manner of difficulty. We must claim the Lord Jesus’ victory over sin and satan, working to make this a reality.
Please help us. Calm and quieten us down, that we can concentrate our focus entirely on the presence of Jesus, the Divine Healer. So much has gone seriously wrong in our world, we are in urgent need of the Saviour.
Bind us together with our Saviour, one in mind and heart, will and conscience, the Master setting the priorities for each and every day. Remind us please, to claim the privileges of this holy friendship.
We cannot give of the Lord Jesus, unless we find out what it is He wants us to give to any one person. For we have to adjust to a new way of living, each of us that is, according to the understanding given in the light of the Lord’s friendship.
Thank You for convincing His disciples of today that the Master is the living Word of God, abiding within all who claim Him as their personal Saviour. It is truly wondrous to know we have such a Brother.
Please help us to always remain as close to the Lord Jesus as is possible, emulating Him reverently by obedience, trusting in His Leadership, acknowledging Him as Lord and Master, that we are being safely guided home.
Let us then make the Lord Jesus our worship so as to glorify and honour our Father in heaven. I ask this especially as we pray the very words the Lord Jesus taught us.
Matthew 6 v 9 “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name’,” in all things the Lord Jesus makes holy by the Spirit. “ ‘Your kingdom come, Your will be done’,” in all our lives, conversion to the way of life the Lord Jesus portrays for us, being the way forwards to reverence You.
May we ever enter Your presence through praise, as we are told to “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.” Psalm 100 v 4
We are a privileged to be able to address You as ‘Father’ ‘Abba’ ‘Daddy’, a term of warm familiarity, an endearment. We can do this only because of Your Son’s atoning sacrifice on the †for us, “Having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us through the veil, that is His flesh.” Hebrews 10 v 19, 20
So we claim to be a new creation, subjects of conversion, all thanks ever be to the Divine Healer, our Lord and Master, He who is Saviour, sharing with us the Spirit of holiness, to cleanse and purify our way of life.
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” v 23 and will never desert us. May we never forsake the Lord Jesus, for His mission is to call out to us to become holy, by embracing as fully as possible His heart-love given us for successful living. May this happen. Amen.
