“ ‘All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who is the Son except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him’.” (Luke 10 v 22)
The Lord Jesus blesses us
With His own Spirit of holiness.
What a blessed assurance,
An insurance against evil.
The Counsellor advises us.
The Adviser instructs us.
The instructor aids us.
The Paraclete stands alongside us.
We meet with the Lord Jesus,
By means of calling prayerfully,
Asking the Holy Spirit,
To descend upon us.
He illuminates the †,
All that happens here
To draw us near to God,
By means of forgiveness.
The result of our receiving forgiveness
Is the first step towards holiness.
“ ‘Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things (s)he possesses.” (Luke 12 v 15)
The Holy Spirit causes divisions within the family to be healed.
No more warring factions to fracture us.
The Spirit of friendship develops this virtue,
Working to bring peace not animosity,
Reconciliation rather than division,
Understanding replacing misapprehension,
Healing being given through Jesus,
He who, although satan injures us,
Even to causing complete brokenness,
The Lord Jesus replaces this hurt
Because He is the Light of Life.
The Spirit comes to make us
As one in the Lord Jesus.
One family, united in prayer and worship.
One together with our Saviour,
Who is one with our Father.
Thus we too, become in the Lord Jesus,
One with the Lord God of the universe.
As the Holy Spirit works in us.
“Behold, bless the LORD, all you servants of the LORD...” (Psalm 134 v 1)
“ ‘I in them and You in Me that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me’.” (John 17 v 23)
It is by the power of the † and the impact of the Holy Spirit we become blessed, exalting the Lord Jesus as our worship, so as to delight and honour You, dearest Father.
We need to learn about You and Your merciful love by owning up to our faults and failings. “Before honour is humility,” (Proverbs 18 v 12) seeing how we become the Lord Jesus’ works in progress.
We learn, all thanks to the informative, life re-shaping Holy Spirit, that it is of truly inestimable value to gain the friendship of the One who is our Saviour.
May we hold firmly to this truth, never allowing the enemy to corrupt this with his deceits and false promises, which can lure us away from the straight and narrow road we are called to take.
It is by living as closely as possible to the Lord Jesus, with the Holy Spirit as our Motivator and Enabler, we turn to You in thanksgiving and warm admiration.
For the Lord Jesus assures us “ ‘When you believe everything becomes possible’.” (Mark 9 v 23 The Truth) which is so uplifting, so firmly faith building, that we long to share the gospel.
We know we have to endure hardships like a soldier in training, or an athlete in strict training, and are so grateful to receive of Your Spirit, Lord God, the Spirit who fills Jesus , so as to support and strengthen us.
May we be patient and remain hard working when the godly results of our efforts made and prayers prayed take longer to come to fulfilment than we think they should.
For in becoming committed to the Lord Jesus, His co-workers, we must learn to share the blessings of faith, by being patient, kind and caring.
The Spirit teaches us that the blessings of the Lord Jesus require us to give of ourselves fully in service, being “Steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labour is not in vain in the Lord.” (based on 1 Corinthians 15 v 58)
We must trust in this power of holy love as Your direct gift to us, dearest Father, as taught us by the Lord Jesus and brought to us by the zealous Spirit, who is ever industrious for our benefit and the sake of the gospel.
Thank You for the hope, the peace and the joy we experience in drawing the best out of life, when we strive to live within the holiness the Lord Jesus willingly, lovingly, shares with us. In this sharing, we are fully blessed to become a blessing.
“Come, let us praise the Lord! Let us sing with joy to God who protects us! Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and sing joyful songs of praise,” (Psalm 95 v 1, 2 GNT) for we have every good reason to do so.
Oh let us truly worship You, as a Trinity, who calls to us to become holy and makes this possible. “Today, if we will hear Your voice, may we not harden our hearts as in the rebellion...” (based on Psalm 95 v 7, 89)
Thank You for gifting us a Teacher who shows us how vital obedience is. Without becoming obedient to Your will and Your way, holy Father, we can have no hope of becoming reverent.
It is in being reverent we are blessed by the love of the Lord Jesus, the Spirit equipping us and making us ready to become a blessing in our turn, by prompting us to give our all to each other.
As we are Your people, Lord God, holiness will always be uppermost in our thoughts and within our heart, for Your free and most gracious gift to us is this new life in the Lord Jesus, where the power of holy love is shared.
“Teach us Your way, O LORD; we will walk in Your truth; unite our heart to reverence Your name,” based on Psalm 86 v 11) Your excellent name as our Father, our Saviour Brother and our Sanctifier ever blessing us.
For then “We will praise You, O Lord our God with all our heart,” and mind, will and conscience, “And we will glorify Your name forevermore. For great is Your mercy towards us” (based on Psalm 86 v 12, 13) as we live now in the Lord Jesus.
“For You, Lord, are good and ready to forgive” (v 5) and to suspend the judgment and punishment we deserve. You allow the † of forgiveness Jesus dying in our place, a truly life changing blessing.
We receive Your merciful love and forgiveness, so we learn to give just as we have received. “ ‘And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us...’” (Luke 11 v 4) It is through forgiveness we are delivered from the evil one.
What a blessing that satan no longer has any true claim to us and he must therefore lose his grip upon us, for we have become an entirely new creation in the love shown us at the †.
Then when the risen, ascended and glorified Lord Jesus was able to send His Spirit to us, we learn to turn to You, dearest Father, through becoming one with our Lord and Master, our Saviour.
By forgiveness we are fully blessed to become a blessing. Thank You so very much for this truly life changing happening. Wisely we are told “Keep your heart with all diligence.” (Proverbs 4 v 23)
This is much more than a plea for common sense, for the explanation states “For out of it spring the issues of life” (Cont) just as they do when we commit to the Lord Jesus, entirely out of love for the Holy Trinity. May the Lord of love, keep us within that love to enable us to “Test all things; hold fast what is good. (And to) abstain from every form of evil,” (1 Thessalonians 5 v 21, 22) as in our old self life.
“And may You, Lord God, the God of peace, cause us to be holy in every aspect of our lives, so that everything about us in spirit, soul and body will be kept blameless in Your eyes at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5 v 23 The Truth)
How I thank and praise You for the reality gained by personal experience that “He who has called us is the Faithful One and He will work this in us... May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with us all as You mercy abounds.” (based on 1 Thessalonians 5 v 24, 28 The Truth). Amen.
