“...Whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you.”
John 16 v 23
Thank You for this promise,
For it is so uplifting and encouraging.
Lord Jesus, there is so much I must ask,
I need to ask, I want to ask of You,
Always guided, I hope, I ask for this too,
Through the influence, inspiration and impact of Your Spirit.
He has convinced me about salvation.
You are the Victor over all sin and death
As You conquer satan, the one who reigns in death.
And it is by faith, we learn this, yearn for this.
The Holy Spirit in all power, guards and defends us.
We learn then You are the One who accomplishes our salvation.
“When the kindness and the love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit...”
Titus 3 v 4, 5
Therefore the top of my wish list
Is the knowledge and experience of salvation,
Of our Father’s steadfast loving kindness,
Such an incredible, unthinkable mercy,
That this be given to all of mankind.
Please ask the Holy Spirit, Lord Jesus,
So as to reverence, honour and please our Father,
For it is only right for this to happen,
Make the knowledge and experience of salvation
Be evident for my family and others for whom I pray,
An occurrence gained through Your friendship.
It is our closeness to You which invites us to worship, in the Spirit.
“...whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour, that having been justified by His grace, we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
Titus 3 v 6, 7
“ ‘For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many’.”
Mark 10 v 45
O Lord, dear Jesus, this is what I want my family, friends and others for whom I pray to know through personal experience of Your friendship.
May the Holy Spirit deal with any blockages to the understanding, acceptance and appreciation of the most merciful plan of salvation.
You paid the price for our freedom from satan at the † of our redemption and we must, absolutely must know this as the foundational fact of our faith.
They need to know, claim and name You in all sincerity, as happened at the witness of Your crucifixion: “When the centurion, who stood opposite Him, saw that (“the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom,” a visible sign from heaven) realisation dawned.” (Mark 15 v 38)
“You cried out like this and breathed Your last, he (the centurion) said ‘Truly this Man was the Son of God’!” (based on v 39) Let those who have not yet met You, do so to find You are the living Lord, the promised Word of God, the fulfilment of prophecy.
Your death has opened for us the way of access to our heavenly Father, there is no other way. How essential it is to realise this if we are not to live in fear of death and a final annihilation of our body and spirit.
I grieve for those who do not as yet know You, Lord Jesus. So I ask You dearest Father, to give all my family, and others in need of recognising and claiming their salvation, to the Lord Jesus so as to bring about a change of heart.
This will happen if they open to the influence of the Holy Spirit, the One able, wanting and willing to transform our life through introducing us all to You, Lord Jesus.
When this happens, we name You and claim You as our Redeemer Saviour, the One who restores us to every grace and favour, offered by our Father.
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1 v 8) But You come to us as “ ‘The way, the truth and the life” (John 14 v 6) so there can be a change of heart, resulting in a change of life style.
This is a total change for the better, thank You. We adjust our moral and spiritual vision of life according to Your rule of love, of mercy, of forgiveness, both as received and as given, all according to the marvellous working of Your Spirit.
We discover the joy of becoming a Christian, living more closely and compassionately with all around us, but of course, most especially with our family. All because of You, Lord Jesus!
I ask for the unbelievers I pray for to “Be transformed by the renewing of their mind” (based on Romans 12 v 2) as they find You are living in and amongst us as Saviour, Brother, Master, God’s Word. You are indeed the Good Shepherd leading us home to heaven.
Let us all be conformed as closely as possible to Your way of life, Your perfect example of how to live to give of oneself lovingly and most generously, always, not only when it suits.
I ask that for all of us there is no longer any accommodation to worldliness, but that we prayerfully strive through our friendship with You, Lord Jesus, to be radically transformed and readily so.
May we journey on through life together with You, endeavouring to live through You, sharing Your love as our conscious effort to delight our Father, this being a joyous and continuous process. I ask for godly results thereby.
Dear Brother, Your holiness is so inspiring, radically different to the ways of the world. Let us ever seek to know this and share this as best we can, asking Your Spirit to turn us into the best possible version of ourselves.
Then our life on earth will not have been fruitless for like You, we offer ourselves up as a sacrifice because we live for You, through You, wisely and reverently.
No longer slaves to sin, let us all choose to correctly, obedient to the written word of God as studied and implemented in the sacred Scriptures, in addition to reverently obeying all You ask or tell us to do through the Spirit.
Lord Jesus, as You are the actual fulfilment of the law of love, it is through You alive in us, we become truly loving and actively, effectively so. This too I ask for others. For indeed it is true that it is love which makes the world go round smoothly.
Thank You so much that we only have to pray and ask to receive You for this to happen, praying to our Father in Your name. Let us then do so without failing. Amen.
