“Wisdom will never enter the soul of a wrong doer, nor dwell in a body enslaved to sin; for the holy spirit of instruction flees deceitfulness, recoils from unintelligent thoughts, is thwarted by the onset of
vice.”
Wisdom 1 v 4, 5 TNJB
Who are you?
Who are you in Christ Jesus? What defines you?
Is it what you do?
Is it what you possess?
Is it what you profess?
Is it your social standing? Is it your profession?
Is it your position in society? Is it your individuality?
“Put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh to fulfil its lusts.” Romans 13 v 14
Or is it entirely something different that defines you? Or more accurately put,
According to someone else who defines you?
Who is this?
Is it a person of modern day status?
A sportsperson or iconic personality? A showman or woman acclaimed?
A person famed for their looks, money, Or position such as royalty or celebrity? A person whose talents are shown vividly?
“Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”
2 Corinthians 5 v 16
“ ‘...the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many’.” Matthew 20 v 28
Have you grasped, really grasped
The true significance of the Easter promise,
All that happened in the Paschal mystery? Have you grasped the vital importance
Of receiving your Saviour in the sacraments, Especially that of the holy Eucharist?
The answer to who you are is here, near.
It resides in the body and blood of Christ Jesus, Living, dying, rising again to save and sanctify us. Our Father is a God of great grace.
“You are my hiding place. You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of
deliverance.”
Psalm 32 v 7
Have you grasped this amidst life’s race,
Or is your opinion of yourself influenced,
Swayed perhaps by the world, its standards,
The world’s philosophy, ideology, opinions,
Which usually fail to mention the Lord God’s sovereignty? 1
Are you not in danger thereby of illusion or disillusionment? Preconceptions can be erroneous and dangerous. There is but one way forwards, that of Christ Jesus.
He is the truth which sets us free,
Free from sins’ disharmony, free from the enemy.
“All the holiness God has destined for our souls has been placed in the humanity of Christ, and it is from this source that we must draw.” Blessed Columba Marmion
“ ‘May the good LORD provide atonement for everyone who prepares his (her) heart to seek God, the LORD God of his (her) fathers though (s)he is not cleansed...’.” 2 Chronicles 30 v 18, 19
Free from misleading, mistaken psychology which is worldly.
Free from false ambition and empty promises.
Free from stumbling on through life, not knowing where you are going, Nor how to get there safely, securely guided.
Are you genuinely seeking a godly answer,
As to who you are as opposed to, who you are meant to be?
Seek then the wisdom and truth found in the Lord Jesus.
Make Him as part of the holy Trinity,
The constancy in your life, the identity to live by.
Journey on open to the Holy Spirit of clarity,
Who will safely develop your holy friendship with Christ Jesus.
“...that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of true understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2 v 2, 3
Be resolved not to stray from Him, but to obey Him.
The Lord Jesus is the gift to uplift our whole being, Enabled then in our seeing to view the glory of God. Our Father of loving concern does so yearn for us.
Our access point into this relationship, ever most generous, Is the life of love of the Lord Jesus gifted us.
His death on the †, is a sacrifice made for us.
We move forwards through a life given over to faith, When we realise, appreciate and honour this holy intention. Let us then keep our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus.
“Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory.” Psalm 24 v 10
Our gaze fixed on the Saviour Brother who lived, died and rose again, All for us, hoping we will venerate Him at the †.
His loss of life is to our gain as we reframe everything
In the light of God’s promises made to us.
As long as we keep our focus on Christ Jesus.
Who are you, or more accurately,
Who are we as God’s family?
Who are we in the light of crucifixion and resurrection?
No longer are we less than nothing, a nobody.
2
We are a new creation in glorious liberty.
“I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my salvation. For He has clothed me with
the garments of salvation. He has covered me with a robe of righteousness.”
Isaiah 62 v 10
A freedom bought for us at the †of the Saviour Jesus. Offer all thanks for God’s mercy, our deliverance,
The severance between us and satan.
Penitent, we become a new creation,
With a freshly defined identity and a blessed destiny. Corruption, deception, shortcoming mercifully dealt with, Redemption and reconciliation are ours to claim.
We name ourselves as brothers and sisters of Christ Jesus, We have the assurance of a Christian calling,
A resurrection and election to new life through reformation.
“Jesus’ resurrection is a particular, special and unique event. It is the announcement of the victory of life over death, of love over sin.” Mother Elvira Petrozzi
A blessed inheritance, a regeneration and reconciliation. Full of the joy of seeing God clearly.
Now throughout time and on into eternity,
Our present salvation makes us one family in Christ Jesus. This is who we are, who we are meant to be,
According to the fine divine mercy of holy love,
Graced by the riches of faith obliterating our poverty ridden souls, Rejoicing in the repenting soul and victorious spirit,
None of the merit ours, but all belonging to Christ Jesus,
His aim our gain in all holiness now and eternally.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who
believes...”
Romans 1 v 16

“See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.” 1 Thessalonians 5 v 15
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8 v 1
Romans 8 v 2 Cont.
based on Romans 12 v 2
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus” has made me who I am, made all believers who they are, blood bought children of God, brothers and sisters richly blessed, the Saviour having made us at the †, “Free from the law of sin and death.”
According to Your mercy dearest Father, gifting us new life in the Lord Jesus as we become open to the Holy Spirit’s influence, no longer need we be conformed to this world.
I ask that as we pray in faith daily, we become “Transformed by the renewing of our mind, that we may prove what is Your good, acceptable and holy will” as shown us by the exemplary life and sacrificial death of Christ Jesus.
No more should we, must we, accommodate to the world’s ways, its falsity, its temptations, its exaltation of self, ‘my rights, my will, my wishes, my way’. No more failure to go our way
regardless.
Thank You for granting us a Saviour in Christ Jesus, the Redeemer, our Restorer to every grace and favour spelling out clearly who we are to become, cherished children, made upright by faith.
O that all the world would come to realise this, so as no longer to be misled by false glamour, the call of self, or the lure of satan.
Lord God, I thank You for Your promise to us, a promise which makes all the difference in the world to us. “I will turn their mourning to joy, will comfort them; and make them rejoice rather than sorrow.”
Without the Lord Jesus we are lost to life in all fullness – that is the fullness of the hope, peace and joy found in holiness – and therefore we are lost to You.
Sin imprisons us in falsity, for it is deceptive. Jesus releases us and aids our recovery by sending us the Spirit of purity. This rescue is at the heart of our salvation. Thank You so much, dearest Father.
What you ask of us is faith and prayer in the Lord Jesus by being open to the Holy Spirit. “You have brought up my life from the pit, O LORD my God,” by answering my prayer
when desperately seeking to find true and full meaning to life, to find You.
Jeremiah 31 v 13
Jonah 2 v 6
Thank You for every act of merciful love, of forgiveness, of compassionate kindness, of patient tolerance and complete understanding of our fallen state. Amen.
