“Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.”
Psalm 124 v 8
Working as three individual, distinct Persons,
Yet mysteriously, only one being love’s harmony.
O Lord, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
Together You are our trust and dependency,
Yet individually You each have a role.
“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 1 v 3
For this we thank and honour You,
Protector Father, Manifest Saviour, Exalted Purifier,
You are together, our Restorer being Redeemer.
You work as one to become our Sanctifier.
This is the marvel the Holy Spirit shares with us.
“Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people.”
Psalm 3 v 8
This is the wonder the Lord Jesus declares to us.
This is the promise our Father makes to us.
Truly wondrous is the nature of Your love and mercy.
By the † of Jesus, You set us at liberty
From sin, from satan, from worldly distraction.
“I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God, for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation. He has covered me with the robe of righteousness.”
Isaiah 61 v 10
You gift us a Father to love us into wholeness,
A Brother to lead us in universal truth,
A Sanctifier at work to renew us in holiness.
Yes, how wondrous, how marvellous!
“Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire beside You.”
Psalm 73 v 25
“My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
Psalm 73 v 25
“For God is my King from of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.” ( Psalm 74 v 12) Dearest Father, thank You so much for gifting us Your Son.
“The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together,” ( Isaiah 40 v 5) as the Lord Jesus hangs on the †of justice for us, to grant us forgiveness.
There can be no more valuable gift than Your forgiveness, Father God, Protector, Lord of mercy and steadfast kindness, the One beloved, salvation’s rescue plan.
You are good to all, compassionate on all You have made. (Psalm 145 v 9) The Holy Spirit remakes us closer to the image and likeness of Jesus.
“Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way.” (Psalm 25 v 8, 9)
Your tender mercies and Your loving kindnesses are shown to us by the Lord Jesus, and have a sound impact upon us due to the working of the purifying Spirit. Thank You.
“For Your name’s sake” as Saviour Redeemer Restorer, “O LORD, pardon my iniquity for it is great.” (v11)
May the Spirit of repentance help us express our contrite sorrow, a genuine broken heartedness at having offended and disappointed You, merciful Father.
Let us look to Your mercy so clearly shown at the † of Jesus. “Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him,” ( Psalm 2 v 12) the blessings flowing as we learn to forgive as we have been forgiven.
“ ‘Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted... Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled’.”
Matthew 5 v 4, 6
May the sorrow of repentance expressed with remorse and a genuine resolve to change our ways, lead us into all holiness as offered in righteousness by Jesus.
Father, I know You are good to all whose hope is in Him, to those who seek You through the Son, by the Spirit. We glimpse heaven in the peace the Lord Jesus gifts us.
“O my soul, you have said to the LORD, ‘You are My Lord, my goodness is nothing apart from You’.” ( Psalm 16 v 2) I need you ever close to me, Lord Jesus.
I need You as divine Healer, asking the Spirit to comfort and console me once repentant. “I will call upon the LORD who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.” (Psalm 18 v 3)
Ever I would praise and thank You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one God in three Persons, an almighty Trinity at work together.
Together You are our Saviour. “Let the God of my salvation be exalted,” extolled, esteemed. “I will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the Gentiles, and sing praises to Your name.” (Psalm 18 v 46, v 49
)
Out of mercy You deliver us from all that is evil. Thank You for the † of the Lord Jesus, “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the
land of the living.” (Psalm 27 v 13)
But as it is, I live in expectant hope, with a growing sense of peace as the Spirit draws me ever closer to You, Lord Jesus. I delight to be one of Your works in progress. ( Philippians 3 v 12) Thank You.
May I ever, led by the Spirit. “Press forward the goal for the prize of the upward call You make to me Lord God, in Christ Jesus,” (based on v 14) according to His leading.
“Let us, as many as are mature, have this in mind, and if in anything we think otherwise,” (based on v 15) let us depend upon the loving mercy offered us, especially at the †, moving forwards in faith as Father, “You will reveal even this to us.” (Cont.)
We are reaching forwards, striving after a share in the holiness of Jesus as prescribed by the Holy Spirit developing dynamic devotion.
May devotion to You as a Trinity, become our consuming focus, our complete desire as we spare no effort in pursuit of this quest.
Together as the Saviour of the entire world – what an amazing task, yet You are in no way daunted thankfully – together please stamp us with the hallmark of the spiritual maturity, seen in our new life in Jesus. Amen.
