“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”
James 1 v 17
How great is our God?
Great beyond all greatness.
Good beyond all goodness.
Gracious beyond all graciousness.
Kindly beyond all kindliness.
Faithful beyond all faithfulness.
That is how great, immeasurably great,
Unimaginably great, indescribably great.
Magnanimous, mighty, marvellous,
Supreme, Masterful, beautiful,
Generous, wise, all knowing,
All seeing, the Creator of life.
Life’s Protector, Provider, Re-Creator,
For our Father is our Saviour
Turning to us through Jesus.
“Great are You LORD, and greatly to be praised; and Your greatness is unsearchable.”
based on Psalm 145 v 3
Strong beyond all strength,
Powerful beyond all power,
Amazing beyond all wonder,
Unchanging, eternal, constant and true.
True to me, true to You,
True to His plans and purposes for us,
We learn this through the Spirit of Jesus.
All loving beyond our wildest dreamings,
Or wishes, or thoughts, or hopes.
Compassionate, tender, caring, sharing,
Nurturing, genuine to His promises,
Of perfection, purity, identity.
Our destiny leading us homeward, to eternity.
The Liberator, the Instructor, the Cleanser
By His Son and His Spirit, perfect in unity
Of love’s particular purpose for us.
Thus our Father cares for us.
He is the Lord God Almighty, all holy.
“ ‘For I am the LORD, I do not change’.”
Malachi 3 v 6
“The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. The LORD is good to all and His tender mercies are over all His works.”
Psalm 145 v 8, 9
Therefore “All Your works shall praise You, O LORD, and Your saints shall bless You. They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom,” (Psalm 145 v 10, 11) as I would desire to do, “And talk of Your power.” (Cont.) “Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works,” (Psalm 140 v 5) especially those made plain to us by Jesus, revealed by the Spirit. I praise the great works of salvation, mankind’s redemption.
I wonder at the marvellous works of Jesus’ incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension and the culmination at Pentecost when the promised Spirit sent by the glorified Jesus descends upon us.
“Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered,” (Cont.) more than the world’s total grains of sand.
How wondrous is all of this. “Glorious things are spoken of You,” (Cont.)Father of all, Giver of grace and glory and nothing good will You withhold from those who live uprightly by means of Jesus’ friendship and the Spirit’s anointing.
“One generation shall praise Your works to another” (Psalm 145 v 4) for it is only right for this to happen. We all should “...declare Your mighty acts,” (Cont.) such works of incredible love. Consistently let us
praise and bless You, all You do, all You say, all You are, all You give, all You teach.
“I will hope continually and I will praise You more and more” (Psalm 71 v 14) for You have been so generously good to me and my family. Daily may I acknowledge this fact.
“My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and Your salvation all the day, for do not know their limits. I will go in Your strength Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only,” (based on v 15, 16) as a Trinity of all love, perfect love.
“Let everything that has breath praise You, LORD. Praise You for Your mighty acts, praise You according to Your excellent greatness,” (based on Psalm 150 v 1, 2) more praised, more outclassed.
May we praise You might and Your majesty. Let us, all the peoples of the world, of every background, culture, creed, custom, praise You for Your “...Name alone is exalted. For Your glory is above the earth and the heaven.” (based on Psalm 148 v 13)
“I will meditate on the glorious splendour of Your majesty,” (Psalm 145 v 5) so grateful to be able to do this Cont. during time of prayer. I will think about all “Your wondrous works.”
“I will declare Your greatness,” (Cont) as best I can in my daily worship. Thank You for making this possible for us through Jesus ,as the Spirit of love animates us. Let it be that all of us “Shall utter the memory of Your great goodness and sing of Your righteousness." (based on v 7)
You are the ultimate source of all good. Therefore “It is good to give thanks to You, O LORD and to sing praises to Your name, O MOST High, to declare Your loving kindness in the morning and Your faithfulness every night.” (Psalm 92 v 1, 2) Truly it is.
“For You, LORD, have made me glad,” (Psalm 92 v 4) as I can share the joy of knowing, loving, honouring and serving You through the Lord Jesus, by the Spirit, in both of whom “I will triumph in the works of Your hands.” (Cont) Thank You. Thank You for everything, for all that You so wonderfully do to care for us.
‘El Shaddai,’ the All-Sufficient One, truly joyously I praise and thank You for being our beneficiary in all things pertaining to life in all the fullness of sharing in Jesus’ holiness, the Spirit’s work accomplished.
“Blessed indeed are those whose strength is in You...as they pass through the Valley of Bacca they make it a spring ...they go from strength to strength,” (based on Psalm 84 v 5, 6, 7 NIV) as You nourish our faith through Jesus and the clarifying Spirit of love. Thank You.
“With all my heart I will praise You, Lord!” Truly I will. “I will never forget how kind You have been” (based on Psalm 103 v 4 CEV) to us, how utterly, marvellously magnanimous. Perhaps this, over and beyond all else is worthy of Your praise. You are indeed ‘Jehovah-Shalom’ the Lord our Peace. I praise You.
“I will sing for joy at what Your hands have done. How great are Your works, Lord...” (Psalm 92 v 4, 5 NIV) truly, most wonderfully great indeed and worthy of all praise. Amen.
