“So walk in the way of love, but at the same time eagerly desire that you will manifest spiritual gifts, especially that of prophecy, so you can tell what is on God’s heart.” 1 Corinthians 14 v 1 The Truth
Loving kindness is the measure,
The measure of whether God is with us,
Living in us by Jesus,
According to the working of the Spirit, or not.
Is His loving kindness apparent or not?
Do we live by Jesus’ gospel message?
Do we use our time and talents all lovingly?
Prophecy has to involve, absolutely must confirm
Our friendship with the Lord Jesus,
Through which the Holy Spirit will work tirelessly,
For He is in the business of evangelisation.
Do we daily walk and talk alongside God,
Or does He do this together with Jesus and the Spirit,
To ever accompany us throughout life?
And is there a difference?
Yes, I think there is, when we seek God’s effectiveness.
“Do not repay evil with evil, or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.” 1 Peter 3 v 9
If we lead the way we will possibly,
Or more likely, probably, wander off the path.
Whereas when God leads us, we will be safely, securely guided.
The Holy Spirit’s guidance is faultless!
He helps us to live out our faith through the Lord Jesus.
His is the way to go to know love.
The Holy Spirit helps us to explore new ways
By which we can broadcast the message of Jesus.
The Spirit is a supernatural, most forceful power.
A power of love, of inspiration, of dedication
To the task on hand and God’s command to love.
It is by love of each other we discover
How to love our Father in the way He asks of us,
The same way as the Lord Jesus models for us.
The Holy Spirit pushes open doors of possibility.
When we pray, the Holy Spirit, through Jesus,
Wherein lies the most significant friendship we will ever have,
This gives us discernment as to what to do, where and when in Jesus.
“ ‘I am who I have said I am …He who sent Me is faithful and true, and I only tell the world what I hear from Him’.” John 8 v 25, 26 The Truth
Then we can take the world by a storm of love!
Just this, love is sufficient for all work of holiness.
Love is the message, love is the means.
Love is the movement, love is the achievement.
Love is the outcome, love is the triumph.
For the Holy Spirit gifts us wisdom in our devotion,
An emotion heartfelt naturally, but also,
Essentially, filling our head space gloriously.
It is to God’s glory the Lord Jesus is alive in us,
That those with little or maybe no faith at all,
Will hear the call to love, the Lord Jesus makes to all of us.
We will offer our Christian service daily, faithfully,
Serving only out of love, by the Spirit of love.
He enables us to act fearlessly, boldly, committedly.
For the arrival of the Holy Spirit is a promise of Jesus fulfilled,
To be a blessing, for us to become His blessing.
“God redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.” Galatians 3 v 14 NIV
An assurance of holy love in action, such an attraction,
The Spirit of love animates us visibly, audibly, powerfully.
There is no half measure about holy love,
No lack of humanity when shaped by God’s mercy.
We then work and pray to turn others away
From misunderstanding, prejudice, envy and hostility.
For there is a better way than this, much better!
We have to model how to live in the way Jesus did.
He came to rid us of all sinfulness.
He came to move human life forwards,
To make us one family rejoicingly alive,
Able to thrive in the power of holy love gifted.
We are lifted above everything which is worldly,
Enabled to live virtuously, according to the law of love,
That truly astonishing, astounding, abounding love
Which is life to us and all who believe in the Lord Jesus.
For it will be when we are all made one
In the love of the Holy Trinity, the victory over sin is won.
“In light of this we had all better stop judging each other. We must be determined not to cause any of our fellow believers to stumble; nor do we want to make things difficult for them.” Romans 14 v 13 The Truth
“ ‘I, I AM the Light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in spiritual darkness because (s)he has the life that gives him (her) light’.” John 8 v 12 The Truth
Let us pray for the law of love to be implemented fully by us, no faltering because we belong by means of the Spirit, to the Lord Jesus, God’s Word of life and offer of life enhancing love.
“If you should ever see a fellow believer commit a sin that does not lead to spiritual death, you should pray for him, asking God to forgive him (her) and restore him (her) to His way.” 1 John 5 v 16 The Truth.
Yes, we must, must pray about everything! Please do. Amen.
