“Give to the LORD the glory due His name; bring an offering and come into His courts. Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness!” Psalm 96 v 8, 9
For our stability and safety,
We need Lord, Your protection,
Which is given supernaturally.
Thank You for teaching us what to do
To develop the spiritual blessings
Set upon us by the Lord Jesus,
In all holiness, and His dying,
A willing sacrifice at the †,
And for showing us how to alleviate curses,
That we can worship You firmly, trustingly,
In the love the Lord Jesus has shown to us.
“Vows made to You are binding upon me, O God; I will render praises to You. For You have delivered my soul from death. Have You not kept my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?” Psalm 56 v 13
Lord Jesus, Son of God,
Let Your will be done in us
With interference by satan blocked.
We call upon Your Spirit to safeguard us.
May He fill our hearts with Your will,
Our mind with all holy wisdom and truth,
Our conscience with the pursuit of justice and peace.
May the Holy Spirit work with us daily,
Powerfully, successfully, Your presence filling us, Lord Jesus.
Let nothing but nothing come in the way of this,
Especially the enemy attack which can be for many,
An all out spiritual onslaught by the adversary.
“Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5 v 6, 7
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5 v 8.
Therefore we are told, Lord, to “Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brother (sister) hood in the world.” (1 Peter 5 v 9) Yes, we live in a fallen world, mankind fallen from grace because of or sinfulness.
It is this sin of all types which allows satan to attack us, because “ ‘Indeed, satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat,” (Luke 22 v 31) You tell us regarding Judas when predicting his denial.
Lord Jesus, it must be similar for us, for we too deny You in so many ways, perhaps most noticeably in our failure to pray in deep sincerity of asking, whilst also desirous of adoring, praising and thanking You as a holy Trinity.
I am sorry for my failure in this way, as when I pray half-heartedly or merely by rote. I want to be, ask to be, made entirely Yours, Lord Jesus, empowered by Your strength to combat the enemy.
“You tell Me that “Believing is real, only when you act upon it and show you did think My promises are true.” (Listen Carefully to Me, 25 June Sue and Hugh O’Donnell). I allowed myself to lose sight of this fact and came under severe spiritual attack. I do want to go out in Your name to claim society for You.
Please help me to do this correctly by submitting entirely to Your will and Your way, made known as I pray and invite Your Holy Spirit, as gifted by our Father, through You, Lord Jesus, to enter each and every situation I face, especially my spiritual battle.
May the Holy Spirit help me to inspect my heart and mind at all times, especially those deep recesses of our being, where dwell the thoughts and beliefs that govern our actions. Lord Jesus, please make these holy, as You guide us in the way of the Gospel truth. Make all of us who long to serve You, a clean and empty vessel waiting to be filled by the power of the Godhead.
Your love is always calling out to us to conquer the enemy’s attack, to demolish his strongholds, to set him running when he hears that name he cannot abide, Your name Lord Jesus, the highest name in heaven and earth.
“ ‘You shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins …Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name ‘Immanuel’ which is translated ‘God with us’.” Matthew 1 v 21, 23.
I read a question, which asked ‘What top three blessings do you receive as you walk in the light of Jesus’ presence?’ Lord, I know You are real and ever lovingly close to me in person. I hear the truth You speak, showing me the way to live.
Then thirdly, but not least, I highly value the gift of Your Holy Spirit counselling my understanding, upbuilding my faith, setting my life on a godly course and enabling me to offer some Christian service.
I am most grateful for the Holy Spirit helping me to recognise and rebut an onslaught of the enemy. I ask to “Above all, to be strong in my faith and dependence upon You, Lord, on Your might and power,” (based on Ephesians 6 v 11 The Truth) the power of the Spirit that is.
May I stand fast when evil attacks. I ask the same for all the Lord Jesus’ followers. Let us wear His truth like a belt for support; His righteousness as a protective breastplate; wearing the shoes of the gospel, enabling us to fight the good fight of faith whilst maintaining peace of mind.
May we make our faith in You, dear Jesus, a shield we take hold of firmly, daily, for this will enable us to overcome anything and everything that satan hurls at us. And it is vital that we remain assured of our beliefs in salvation.
May the Holy Spirit protect all our thinking, reasoning and deciding, enabling us please, to counter attack all satan’s deceits intended to destroy our way of life. Let us use in our defence a sword, which is the written word of sacred Scripture.
Holy Spirit, Lord, bring to mind please the appropriate Scripture we will need in any one offence against the enemy and remind us that it is always safe to call in the name of Jesus, for satan will not abide in His presence.
Come to us regularly to help us to pray. Inhabit and shape, uplift and glorify our prayer life to cover the many aspects of prayer, especially including adoration, praise and thanksgiving in addition to our petition, supplication and intercession, pleading for ourselves and all others.
How shall I praise You today, Lord God, Almighty Father? Uppermost in my mind remains the last recent spiritual attack which was terrifying to me. Your love as a Trinity has brought me through safely. “But my eyes are upon You, O GOD the Lord; in You I take refuge,” (Psalm 141 v 8) and delight so to do. I cannot really thank You sufficiently.
“Do not leave my soul destitute,” not at any time I plead. “Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, and from the troops of the workers of iniquity. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I escape safely.” Cont to v 9, 10.
For I have as yet much I want to do to love, honour, serve and glorify You, Lord God, holy Three, wondrous Trinity, “…greatly to be praised…I will declare Your greatness…the memory of Your great goodness” towards all of mankind, “shall sing of Your righteousness” as I hope to praise You daily. Psalm 145 v 3,6, 7
May the Holy Spirit bless my efforts so to do by firming my friendship with the Lord Jesus, the Life Giver, to the extent that nothing, not even satan, can shake to destroy this.
I hope to live, I ask to live in a way which will ever praise and glorify You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, speaking “…Of the glory of Your kingdom and talk(ing) of Your power” (v 11) in the way that this has afflicted me.
Again and again and again unceasingly, I offer all praise and thanks for the glory, Your glory holy Trinity, of the Lord Jesus being alive in all His disciples, making us “A new creation, old things have passed away; all things have become new” because we are of You, Lord God. 2 Corinthians 5 v 17
Thank You for reconciling us to Yourself through the Lord Jesus and making us ambassadors, for Your beloved Son, to implore others on Christ Jesus’ behalf to be reconciled to You, to become of right standing in Your eyes because we live though Jesus, with Him alive in us, empowered by the Holy Spirit. This indeed is the fullness of life the Lord Jesus promised us. How I praise and thank You. Amen.
