“ ‘When you ask in this way (using the authority of My name) you will receive and this will give you great joy’.” John 16 v 24
Becoming stronger in faith
Is to experience:
A steadfast hope
For a brighter future;
A sense of peace
That a holier society will come about;
A real joy
As to the growing friendship with Jesus;
A glorious sense of belonging
To our Father of every mercy;
A wish to always worship through
Especially glorifying the Saviour our Brother;
A resolve to do better
In seeking all the ways of holiness;
Sheer delight in the godly insight and effectiveness of prayer,
We also benefitting from the Holy Spirit’s counselling us, thank goodness!
“The steps of a good (wo)man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his (her) way.” Psalm 37 v 23
Stronger in faith is:
A gain in wisdom and understanding
In that which really matters spiritually;
An ever growing appreciation
Of the free gift of salvation;
An ever increasing wish to express gratitude
For all the Lord God accomplishes with and for us;
The release from fear of death
Knowing a fuller life beyond the grave awaits Jesus’ followers;
A certainty in the face of hostility
Or attack like Covid 19, that God has all the answers;
Renewal on a daily basis in the love of the Lord Jesus
Taught by the Holy Spirit so to honour our Father;
Greater protection in the knowledge of true love,
That love coming directly from heaven above.
“He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Psalm 91 V 4 NIV
Becoming stronger in faith is:
Working co-operatively towards all lives being restored to God’s original plan,
Which although ruined by us, will now be gathered up and reclaimed in Christ Jesus;
Accepting the free gift of grace
Which allows this re-instatement to happen because Jesus is our Saviour;
Relying upon the gifting of the Holy Spirit of counsel,
Striving to grow the fruit of His effectiveness;
As He counsels us, asking to be filled with the Spirit’s gifting
Of wisdom, understanding, knowledge, fortitude, piety and fear of the Lord;
Using the variety of charisms the Spirit develops
In the service of mankind, especially the upbuilding of the church;
Still striving to have a life in the Spirit,
Focused upon Jesus, emulating His love and kindness;
Giving up the pursuit of self interest,
In order to become more like the nature of Jesus.
“ ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14 v 6
Becoming stronger in faith is:
Accepting graciously the many blessings Jesus offers us,
Wanting to share these as widely as possible;
Looking to be making continuous spiritual progress,
Through repentance for faults, then praying to move forwards;
Approaching our Saviour Brother as the Divine Healer,
The One who re-opens the gates of heaven for us by way of the †;
Becoming clearly more devoted to the Master,
Endeavouring to honour Him through obedience to all He asks;
A desire to offer Christian service gladly,
Making the best of our time, talents and resources;
Praying for opportunities to open up before us
So as to declare and share our love for the Trinity;
Not doing anything to block our access to the Lord Jesus,
Heeding every prompt and warning of the Holy Spirit.
“ ‘Seek the kingdom of God first and all these things shall be added to you’.” Luke 12 v 31
“ ‘You did not choose Me. No, it was I who chose you. But I not only chose you to belong to Me; I also commission you to go and bear fruit that will be of eternal significance.” John 15 v 16 The Truth
Lord Jesus, “Your name is ointment poured forth’,” (Song of Songs 1 v 3) cleansing and healing us from all our sinfulness, that becoming stronger in faith, we make good spiritual progress.
As we come to rejoice in the full acceptance with our Father that You win for us, Lord Jesus, I ask that through this experience society, sees the benefits.
In seeing holy benefits let us desire to pray so as to call down further blessings upon all of society, as we sense the Lord Jesus is indeed with us, able to make us stronger in faith.
Thank You for giving everything for us, Lord Jesus, You gave Your life and death for the intention of our salvation, willingly, freely, confident in our Father’s mercy.
How well You show Your love for us Lord Jesus. As we become stronger in faith, may we learn to love You, our Father and the Holy Spirit, above and beyond all else. Holy Spirit, Lord, faith Giver, faith Builder, please enable us to prayerfully focus on the love and mercy gifted us from our Father, by means of our turning to Jesus as Saviour.
Spoken during the Thank You dearest Father, for making Your beloved Son our Divine Healer. “Lamb of God, Celebration of Mass You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.” Our spiritual food is true nourishment indeed, the highest sacrifice.
Cont. “We praise You, Lord God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of Your glory,” not least all those who, growing stronger in faith, prayer by prayer, delight in the presence of the Lord Jesus, here with us.
May the Holy Spirit ever offer us His protective help, to defend us from all that is evil, leading us into all holiness, that which we find in the love of the Lord Jesus. He is our light and our peace.
Cont. “Lord, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed,” then I can become stronger in faith as You permit not that I
should be separated from You.
To become stronger in faith has to be our resolved aim, a goal to be reached, for then we can become productive in Christian service in whatever way the Spirit asks of us.
I ask that we become so firm in our faith, we will “Recognise that nothing is better than fearing the Lord, and nothing sweeter than adherence to the Lord’s commandments,” (Ecclesiasticus 23 v 27 TNJB) for this is the truth! Amen.
