“You have granted me life and favour, and Your care has preserved my spirit.” (Job 10 v 12)
Are you wishing for God’s favour?
Then look for His gift of a Saviour.
Our Father gifts Jesus to us for His own purpose.
God’s purpose is the development of our holiness.
We need to be completely single minded about this quest. The request for holiness takes effort and energy,
A daily commitment to earnest prayer.
Prayer is where we can seek and find forgiveness,
So as to better focus on the love Jesus offers us.
This is the highest favour of forgiveness.
Forgiveness of our sinfulness comes first and foremost That all the other countless blessings cheer us.
All blessings flow through our forgiveness found,
Made sound by the power of holy love without shadow of doubt.
“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16 v 11)
Jesus lived, died and rose again for humanity.
He set aside His regal divinity in heaven,
Leaving this for a while to invest in humanity.
Apart from sin, Jesus lived just like us,
With His focus being on honouring our Father,
Seeking to do His will fully, obediently.
In this the Lord Jesus reveals reverence to us.
All that is good for mankind arises from goodness. Goodness emanates from Jesus’ own life given to us.
He is the Divine Healer, our Saviour, our Redeemer.
Once you grasp this truth you should not look back,
For you lack nothing requisite for developing holiness. Holiness is a life lived fully to the glory of God,
Without deviation or compromise and no half-heartedness
And our Father’s favour will be generously given, lovingly.
“In everything give thanks, for this is God’s will for You in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5 v 18 NIV)
“Devote yourselves to prayer being watchful and thankful.” (Colossians 2 v 4 NIV)
Let us pray through Christ Jesus, our forever Saviour, thanking our Father for the joy of faith and the hope we learn to live by in meeting with and following the Lord Jesus, according to the glorious work of the Holy Spirit.
We offer all thanks for the teaching example of perfect holiness, of total obedience to Your will, Father God, as shown us by Christ Jesus’ exemplary life and encouraged by those who heed the Holy Spirit.
We praise You dearest Father, for breaking the power of evil. satan no longer holds us captive. We rejoice in Your justice, as we grow to long to pursue the holiness the Lord Jesus offers to share with us.
May we pray with joy in learning how vital it is to give ourselves to You sacrificially. It cost the Lord Jesus His life to win forgiveness for us. We must therefore offer You something truly worthwhile, be this time, effort, commitment, devotion, resources, prayer, active charity or whatever else the Spirit asks of us.
Thank You for showing us that sacrificial giving yields the fullest harvest of Your love and mercy, able to be an amazing grace and blessing to many as long as we give our best efforts to You.
We praise You that the example of the full love of the Lord Jesus reminds us that whenever we have received a blessing we should give back a portion of this in our efforts to work in Jesus’ name, to offer our service lovingly, joyfully, generously. You show us it is more blessed to give than to receive, and You are never, ever outdone in generosity!
May we always recall the importance of our Saviour Brother’s teaching us “ ‘Freely you have received, freely give’.” (Matthew 10 v 8) I pray and ask that we will learn in this and all things to be diligent in our obedience.
Your covenanted love, dearest Father, is the pledge of Your faithful, merciful, steadfast kindness towards us, as made personal to our life by the Lord Jesus and the impact of the Holy Spirit. Thank You for Your favour.
Your irrevocable pledge is to be our God forever, another reason You send the Lord Jesus to us as truth, Your truth, holy truth. Thank You that Your “Law is perfect...testimony is sure...statutes are right...commandment is pure...fear is clean...judgments are true and righteous altogether.” (Psalm 19 v 7, 8, 9)
What a lot we have to gain or lose! “By them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward,” (Psalm 19 v 11) for then we adhere to the path of life set out for us by Jesus, asking to be led along this by the Holy Spirit.
We praise and truly thank You for making Your Son known to us by the Holy Spirit, as the foundation stone of our eternal relationship with You. Jesus our Lord is the affirmed truth of Your all loving, merciful forgiveness as our Protector.
“ ‘The LORD will establish You as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways.” (Deuteronomy 28 v 9) The promise originally made to Israel, has been most mercifully extended to the rest of the world by sending Jesus to be our Saviour.
Indeed, You say with regard to Your Son, “ ‘It is too small a thing that you should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel,” (Isaiah 49 v 6) for all praise ever be, Your mercy is wide ranging.
You look mercifully upon all who believe in the Lord Jesus as Your Healer Saviour, our Redeemer, our fresh start, our new creation, our joy in finding life has a holy and eternal purpose in discovering You, Father of mercy.
“I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth...” (v 6) “Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One...” (v 7) all are called to worship.
Jesus is our escape from sinfulness, “That You may say to the prisoners, ‘Go forth’.” (v 9) We are released, all praise ever be, from our captivity by satan and “To those in darkness, show yourselves’.” (Cont)
We have a Brother whose perfect life is sacrificed for us, according to Your planned purpose to grant us life and favour, to care for us eternally. How joyous our praise should ever be!
“For YAH, the LORD, is our strength and our song” (Isaiah 12 v 2 the singular changed to plural) for all Jesus’ believers. “He also has become our salvation.” (Cont) “Therefore with joy we will draw water from the wells of salvation,” (v 3) for this is a certainty in an uncertain life.
Let us then “Praise You LORD, and call upon Your name” (based on Isaiah 12 v 4) as the Trinity of mercy. Let us “Declare Your deeds among the peoples,” (based on v 4) all the nations of the wide world!
We must “Make mention that Your name is exalted” (based on v 4) as Protector Father, our Deliverer, as Saviour Jesus our Redeemer, as the Purifier, the Holy Spirit, the Sanctifier, life being richly blessed.
Let us too, praise You with songs of praise and thanksgiving, hymns of unsurpassed joy in our salvation. “Sing to the LORD, for He has done excellent things; this is known in all the earth.” (v 5)
“Cry out and shout, O inhabitants of Zion,” the holy city, “For great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst’!” (v 6)
We have become the Lord Jesus’ good works in progress, so as to make us a holy nation. You “Are a special people, that we may proclaim the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvellous light” (based on 1 Peter 2 v 9) of love, of mercy.
Jesus is the chosen Messiah making us recipients of Your graced favour of salvation using the Holy Spirit in addition to the Lord Jesus Himself. We are elected to favour by Your graced love and mercy.
Let us then, offer all praise to the Almighty Trinity, now and eternally, for Your joy in giving us freedom from satan, is our faith shaped, sourced and profoundly blessed. “Bless the LORD, O my soul and forget not all His benefits.” (Psalm 103 v 2) Amen.
