“The LORD will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended. Also your people shall all be righteous...” (Isaiah 60 v 20)
God’s blessings upon us
Are gifted through Jesus, the Christ.
Jesus as Saviour, Brother, Master,
And essentially, our best Friend.
God does send us peace
Through our relationship with Jesus,
As He shapes our life
In all godly purpose,
According to the impact upon us
Of the Spirit of holiness.
“Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians 5 v 16)
The very same Spirit being
The One who animates Jesus.
He is the Spirit of love and dedication.
He changes the face of a nation,
By drawing upon us, marvellously,
A likeness to the Man Christ Jesus,
Who as Saviour, changes history.
The Spirit enables the Lord Jesus,
He who died, rose again and ascended,
Returning to heaven to be glorified,
To live once more amongst us.
“Him we preach warning every (wo)man in all wisdom, that we may present every (wo)man perfect in Christ Jesus.” (Colossians 1 v 28)
This divinity changes all humanity radically.
We desire to become like Jesus,
Serving in holiness, heeding the Spirit, to our Father’s honour. We value His friendship more and more
As we see our Father open up His blessing store.
For we become of right standing in His eyes,
When we devote our life to Jesus as Lord.
Our Saviour Lord, the Master, is God’s living Word.
He resides in us when we open ourselves up prayerfully.
“Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.” (Psalm 4 v 1)
We pray to the life changing influence of the Spirit,
Realising how important a prayer life is to develop.
We pray asking to learn to obey,
Amongst all else that we discuss in our friendship.
We pray in adoration, making Jesus our worship.
We pray seeking reclamation whenever we go wrong,
This feeling we belong – hopefully only temporarily - to the enemy.
We pray to express our praise and appreciation of rescue, Especially for the free gift – that is what grace is –
Of the perfect life, sacrificial death and saving love of Jesus.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 6 v 8)
We pray asking to become more closely united to Him,
Two hearts beating as one with holy purpose.
We pray calling upon the Holy Spirit to descend,
Rest upon us so as to gift life the true happiness,
As we set our hope on Jesus for our entry to heaven.
We pray, pleading for all that has gone wrong Personally or socially, nationally or internationally, To be put right according to the mercy of God, Claiming we have a Divine Healer,
He whom we call Jesus. We pray to more fully unite our heart and mind to Jesus.
“Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offence ...to the church of God...not seeking (your) own profit, but the profit of many that they may be saved.” (1 Corinthians 10 v 31, 32, 33)
To find we live in our Saviour with the highest purpose,
Which is that of godly service, giving ourselves
We pray to learn humility so as to yield.
Yield to the calling of our Father, our Brother,
And maybe, or, the beckoning of the Holy Spirit.
We pray knowing the blessings flow according to
Our decided purpose, a life given to Jesus.
We pray as best we can each and every day.
We pray and certainly feel contented, complete and happy.
“Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful...Sing to Him a new song...with a shout of joy.” (Psalm 33 v 1, 3)
“For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in truth. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.” (Psalm 33 v 4, 5)
Yes, let us ever pray in all praise and thanksgiving, as living through the Lord Jesus, we learn to see, to experience where all goodness comes from.
“Behold the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy,” (Psalm 33 v 18) finding this is made available to us at the † of Jesus “To deliver their soul from death...” (Cont)
Our greatest fear, that of an annihilation, a nothingness opening up before us when we die, has been mercifully dealt with by salvation. We shall not die, but live forever because we believe in Jesus as Saviour, for we pray.
“I cried out to You, O LORD and to the LORD I made my supplication.” (Psalm 30 v 8) Thank You so much for the anointing of the Spirit, enabling this to happen. Keep us praying.
“ ‘What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth? Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me; LORD, be my helper’!” (v 9, 10)
Thank You for helping me to worship, as I learn from the Holy Spirit, that dearest Father, You send Your Son to us for the blessing of Your holy purpose, the saving grace of our rescue from satan.
Please keep reaching out for us. “HEAR, O LORD, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy upon me and answer me. When You said ‘Seek My face’,” (Psalm 27 v 7, 8) I did, prompted by Your Spirit.
Thank You for the vast difference this has made to daily life, changing my everyday focus to be that of service in Jesus’ name, my time given over to the variety of forms of worship.
I delight in the sacraments, friends who offer godly company and the helpful instruction gained in studying the sacred Scriptures. Time without end I benefit from the friendship of the Lord Jesus and the involvement of the Holy Spirit.
I fear I would be lost to all of this without the influence of the Spirit. But as it is, mercifully, “When You said ‘Seek My face,’ my heart said to You, ‘Your face LORD, I will seek’.” (v 8)
I have learned that in prayer we can ask to receive of You and the more we pray, the more readily the blessings flow! Thank You for shepherding us in the love of Jesus, our worship.
“Show me Your ways O LORD” (Psalm 25 v 4) in all the matters I am currently praying about, seeking Your answer. “Teach me Your paths; lead me in Your truth and teach me” (v 5) for this is my earnest request.
“For You are the God of my salvation” Lord God, Lamb of God, Spirit of God. “On You I wait all the day,” (Cont) grateful to be able to do so. But I must ask that in these long hours when I forget to pray, or do so only half-heartedly, please help me.
Teach me anew and “Remember, O LORD, Your tender mercies and Your loving kindnesses, for they are from of old,” (v 6 ) and have turned my life around completely.
Truly I am so grateful for Your perfect law “Converting the soul” and Your testimonies made clear to us in the love the Lord Jesus shows us “Making wise the simple.” (Psalm 19 v 7)
Your statutes are our rejoicing once we claim Jesus as Saviour, Your commandments, all based on the law of love are “Pure, enlightening the eyes.” (v 8)
Therefore, please keep us praying. Praying to praise, offer thanks and adore You as a Trinity. Praying to repent when life has gone down the wrong track.
Praying to be called back to the love of our Saviour Brother. Praying to yield to Him as the Divine Healer, making us Your good works in progress at the hand of the Spirit. Yes, prayer is so vital to us.
Daily I hope to start the day with prayer, calling on the life shaping Spirit to “Enlighten, guide, strengthen and console me” (Cardinal Mercier) when the entrenched faults raise their ugly heads.
I must learn not only how to become godly, but how to remain so by the Holy Spirit strengthening my faith daily, teaching me to rejoice in His way. Thank You for another day when my calling is to share the joy of becoming a Christian. Please keep me ever praying to this end.
I ask that all of the Lord Jesus’ followers “Aim for perfection to fulfil completely Your purpose in our lives, Lord God, that we live in unity and peace with one another knowing that” – all thanks to the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit – “You are the God of love and peace who will be with us,” (based on 2 Corinthians 13 v 11) praise ever be. Amen.
