“O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder, consider all the worlds Thy hand has made ...Thy power throughout universe displayed, then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee: how great Thou art, how great Thou art.”
Opening of a hymn of Stuart K Hine 1898-1989 based on a hymn of Carl Boberg 1850-1940
For I see, I realise, I know You show me
Your presence, a presence far deeper, wider,
higher, fuller, richer than my heart can contain.
And yet You lovingly, patiently remain with me
awaiting the reply of my response, my reaching out in faith.
As I reach out for You, teach me more of Your magnificence,
the splendour of Your beauty, all that is holy.
Be for me the reality in my day, not far away,
beyond reach of comprehension, but evident here.
“Who else is there for me in heaven? And, with You, I lack nothing on earth. ...my heart’s rock, my portion, God for ever.”
Psalm 73 v 25, 26
Draw me near to Your side to wonder, ponder on Your reality.
Be to me evident in Your wisdom, my truth,
Your life, my hope, Your peace, my strengthening,
Your grace, my freedom, Your love, my desire.
I aspire to serve You, honour You, exalt and esteem You,
in all I desire, purpose, plan, think, do and say.
I want to obey You that I may magnify Your name,
announce the fame of Your glory, my life’s story.
Teach me how to pray that I may ever obey Your call.
“Thus I have gazed on You in the sanctuary, seeing Your power and Your glory. Better Your faithful love than life itself, my lips will praise You, Thus I will bless You all my life, in Your name lift up my hands.”
Psalm 63 v 2-4
Be for me the reality of life unfolding in a way,
the very way I am called to honour and obey You.
May I witness to You, all You so wonderfully do.
All glory be to You almighty God of miracle working wonders.
May Your presence ever be amongst us all by the victory of Christ’s †, our redemption in Your name of all holy love ,
our salvation by the power of the risen Christ, real and evident amongst us.
Amongst us by the work of Your Spirit of grace,
enabling, empowering us to embrace Your closeness.
“LORD, You have been our refuge from age to age. Before the mountains were born, before the earth and the world came to birth, from eternity to eternity You are God.”
Psalm 90 v 1,2
Your nearness is the life we seek and ask for.
Your holiness is the way forward, the way of the †,
Light in our darkness, hope in our anxiety, peace in our suffering.
May we ever be offering You our best intention
to ever mention Your name with true honour and reverence.
That redeemed by Your love, we may exalt and esteem You,
Christ’s life, His holiness in us because of the †of salvation.
Reparation made, we thank and praise You, delight in Your presence.
A presence far beyond that which our heart can contain.
“And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
that on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee:
how great Thou art, how great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee:
how great Thou art, how great Thou art.”
3rd. verse and chorus of Stuart K. Hine hymn.
Yet by faith, we will remain with You, ever in You.
You in us because of Christ’s †, us in You,
to worship and adore You, life fulfilled in Your presence.
“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty;
for all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O LORD;
and You are exalted as head over all.” (1 Chronicles 29 v 11)
“Blessed are You, LORD God of Israel our Father, forever and ever.
We honour and glorify Your holy name ever present amongst us.” (1 Chronicles 19 v 10 )
“LORD, You are my God, I shall praise You to the heights, I shall praise Your name; for You have accomplished marvels, plans long-conceived, faithfully, firmly.”

“Give the LORD God His due, sons (and daughters) of God, give the LORD God His due of glory and strength, give the LORD the glory due His name, adore the LORD in the splendour of holiness.”
Psalm 29 v 1, 2
“Let the nations praise You, God, let all the nations praise You. Let the nations rejoice and sing for joy, for You judge the world with justice, You judge the peoples with fairness, You guide the nations on earth. Let the nations praise You, God, let all the nations praise You.”
Psalm 67 v 3, 4,5,
“Come, let us cry out with joy to the LORD, acclaim the rock of our salvation. Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving, acclaim Him with music ... (Psalm 96 v 6)

By His right hand and holy arm He has won the victory ... Acclaim the LORD, all the earth, burst into shouts of joy!” (Psalm 98 v 1, 4) “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.” (Psalm 100 v 4)
“May my lips proclaim Your praise, for You teach me Your will ...May I live only to praise You.” (Psalm 119 v 171, 175) “Blessed be God, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders; blessed for ever His glorious name. May the whole world be filled with His glory” (Psalm 72 v 18, 19) Amen! Amen!”
