Hosea 6 v 3
Lord, reach out to teach me.
Command me, demand that I listen.
Listen to You, who is the Word of God.
Help me, guide me, inspire me.
Be in me that I may see with
“Eyes trained by the Bible.” (Professor Frances Young)
You came to show us a new way,
Your way, God’s way in a world,
An upside down world that has got it so wrong.
As I belong to You, I implore You
For more, ever more of Your enlightening Spirit.
Only through You, in Him, can I inherit understanding,
That true understanding commanding God’s wisdom.
“ ‘Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You glorious in holiness, fearful in praises doing wonders?”
Exodus 15 v 11
You Lord, are the way my Father asks me to live.
You are the inspiration to give me determination.
You are the truth of how I am to be
To see the glory of God shining in me.
You Lord, are the example of the life I must follow.
Yes, help me, guide me, inspire me.
Help me to listen and learn from You.
Guide me to heed Your every word.
Inspire me to admit Your decision is right.,
That I may submit to Your bidding.
Be ever ridding within me all that hampers me.
Set me free from my own woeful inadequacy.
Be for me the drive, the energy to succeed.
“You in Your mercy have led forth the people whom You have redeemed. You have guided them in Your strength to Your holy habitation.”
Exodus 15 v 13
I need You, Lord, please help me.
Accompany me every step of the journey
As I travel onwards, homewards to heaven.
I can reach my Father only through You.
Present me “Before His glorious presence
Without fault and with great joy.” ( Jude 24)
Your joy, Lord, as You begin to see Yourself in me.
What a tall order, I have such a long way to go!
But I know You are there for me,
Set to lead me to become sin free,
At liberty to give glory to God through all You do.
Do in me, do for me, do with me.
“You will bring them in and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, in the place O LORD, which You have made for Your own dwelling. The sanctuary O LORD, which Your hands have established. The LORD shall reign forever and ever.”
Exodus 15 v 17, 18
Be with me increasingly, Lord.
Command me, demand of me that I listen.
Together we will see Your glory surrounding me,
Abounding as we travel this road together.
“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me.
You will stretch out Your hand...and Your right hand will save me.
You Lord, will perfect that which concerns me,
Your mercy, O Lord endures forever,” thank You. (Psalm 138 v 7, 8)
“Do not forsake the works of Your hands.” (Cont.)
Help me, guide me, inspire me.
“Grace and truth” (John 1 v 17) come through You who is the Word of God.
Lord, reach out to teach me.
“As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”
John 1 v 12
“In Christ all shall be made alive.”
1 Corinthians 15 v 22
Lord, I believe Your name is synonymous with the Father’s word of wisdom and truth. You are “The true Light which gives light to every man...full of grace and truth.” ( John 1 v 9, 14) In You is life, true life, the life of the Father. The life given in all wisdom and truth. Grant me this grace.
I thank You for Your promise as You say “ ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciple indeed; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free...Whoever commits sin is a slave of sin, and a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed’.” (John 8 v 31, 32, 34 , 35. 36) Lord, send Your Spirit to strengthen me. “Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But I personalised am not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in me.” (Romans 8 v 8, 9 personalised)Merciful Father, I thank and praise You for the gift of Your Son. Ever lift my sight to the height
of heaven in Him. What a marvellous work of redemption You began to set me sin free. May I ever be responsive. “I have need of endurance, so that after I have done the will of personalised God, I may receive the promise.” (Hebrews 10 v 38 personalised)
“I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your loving kindness and Your truth. For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength to my soul.”
Psalm 138 v 2, 3
You sent Your Son to teach me. Come Lord, by Your Spirit, be alive in Me. Be for me my true heart’s energy. Please help me, guide me, inspire me that I may be all my Father asks me to be. I will trust in You alone. “Blessed ...are those who hear the word...and obey.” (
Luke 11 v 28) “Blessed is the (wo)man who endures ...when (s)he has been approved, (s)he will receive the crown.” (James 1 v 17)
“As for God, His way is perfect. The word of the LORD is proven, He is a shield to all who trust in Him. For who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect ...You enlarged my path under me, so my feet did not slip...You have armed me with strength for the battle...Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted...Therefore I will give thanks to You, O LORD.” ( Psalm 18 v 31,32, 36,39,46, 49) Praise ever be! “You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up.” ( Psalm 18 v35) Your goodness will lead me home. Praise be.
Amen.
