“He makes peace in your borders, and fills you with the finest wheat.” (Psalm 147 v 14)
God comes to us,
In Jesus, in the Eucharist,
As the Spirit enables this.
The reality of such love,
A love extraordinary,
Love in immensity,
Love with intensity,
Offering all prosperity
To spirit, soul and body.
How utterly incredible this is!
”O Sacrament most holy, O Sacrament divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment Thine.” (Sung or said at the end of a celebration of Mass)
Truly marvellous, most wondrous
In faith’s outcome,
We are enlightened by love’s victory,
God loves unfailing.
What an uplift
Is this gift of heaven,
The leaven of our belief.
Jesus lives in us,
Recipients of the Most Holy Eucharist,
Worldwide in every country.
Praise be to God’s glory!
“ ‘As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so (s)he who feeds on Me will live because of Me’.” (John 6 v 57)
“ ‘This is the bread which came down from heaven – not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. (S)he who eats this bread will live forever.” (John 6 v 58)
Dearest Father, the Lord Jesus makes the promise of an eternal life very clear to us. Thank You for this incredible mercy, a truly amazing grace, a most wondrous, utterly marvellous gift of Your love, able to re-shape our daily life as we are invited to share in the holiness of Jesus.
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want,” not be short of anything pertaining to living correctly so as to delight and honour You, Lord God. My Saviour Brother is the Lord and Master who “Leads me beside the still waters” none of the storms of life battering me down in my faith, so as to drown me. (Psalm 23 v 1 v 2)
My Saviour “Restores my soul”. Thank You so much for this mercy of holy love uplifting my hope, offering me that peace of knowing You, of seeking to obey You in all things, of delighting to honour and please You as “He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” (Psalm 23 v 3, 4)
His name is synonymous with perfect love, a redemptive healing love, blessing life incredibly. “I will fear no evil; for You are with me,” ever comforting and reassuring, uplifting and encouraging me when I fail You. (v 5)
“You prepare a table for me,” in the Most Holy Eucharist, a banqueting table inviting “Goodness and mercy to follow me all the days of my life,” preparing me for heaven, as all who believe in the Lord Jesus as their personal Saviour, “Will dwell in the house of the LORD, forever.” (Cont v 6)
The gift of heaven awaits all who partake of holy communion, the most precious body and sanctifying blood of the Lord Jesus, a life giving Eucharist, a true celebration, offering all praise and glory to the threefold Trinity, in thanks for Your mercy of love.
This has been handed down to us directly from the apostles who were at the Lord Jesus’ Last Supper, some of whom were with Him in the Garden of Gethsemane and at the †of His crucifixion. Thank You for the biblical narrative accurately scribed.
As we come to the Altar to partake of this Eucharist, this gift of heaven, we are fully blessed by the historical, verifiable connection to the Lord Jesus, stretching back over the centuries. Our faith is one long, continuous story of Your love for us, of the victory over sin and death the Lord Jesus made at the †.
Prayerfully rejoicing, we celebrate this as often as we can. The Lord Jesus is true life to us, the fullness of life now and our hope of heaven eternally, as all Your best plans for our salvation come to full fruition as this is being presented to us in the glorious truth of the gospel.
Act in us, Holy Spirit, Lord, that strengthened by the presence of the Lord Jesus in holy communion, we guard and defend all that is holy. Let not satan any longer have control over us, for we claim and plead the victory of the Lord Jesus’ sacrifice upon the †.
Our Divine Healer out of love, offers us a blessed share in His holiness. Make us holy as we strive to live a life of love such as the Lord Jesus has taught us, asked us, modelled perfectly for us. We cannot show love unless we desire and strive to be like our beloved Brother, our Saviour.
Grant us the grace to be conformed to the Lord Jesus’ holiness, a life a goodness, graced fully by the power of holy love. Let the Lord Jesus be formed in us, that we no longer self rule giving in to temptation, lured away by satan.
It is this love which introduces us to the idea, the reality of a full life beyond the grave, but firstly we must “Not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind, that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will” You long for, Father God. (based on Romans 12 v 2)
Any accommodation to worldliness is harmful, even fatal for us. Please shield and defend us, O Holy Spirit of Pentecost, breathing new life into the Lord Jesus mystical body here on earth, His church. The renewing of our mind, that which controls our heart, is an ongoing, continuous process, if we are to become Christ like, radically different to our worldly self of former times.
Let us then pray, study the sacred Scriptures seriously in earnest, to learn from them and put into practise the teachings, whilst remaining open to You, Holy Spirit, Lord, rejoicing in our friendship with the Lord Jesus, partaking frequently of holy communion, the gift of heaven, which is eternally life giving.
Our faith will grow only to the extent that we do these things, allowing our mind and heart to be influenced, encouraged, uplifted by holy teaching and example, impact and inspiration.
There can be no better teacher than the Word of God, our Saviour Brother, the Redeemer, our Shepherd, the Divine Healer and Life Saver, encouraging us by His love, offering us a blessed share in this virtue, which suffices for all things holy. To love Jesus in return, is to serve Him daily, wherein lies life’s fullness.
Let us then accomplish this gladly, joyously, spreading the gospel of hope, by doing whatever we can to help, encourage and uplift each other. Holy Spirit, Lord, make us quietly persistent in our efforts to serve lovingly, stable in heart and mind because of the transforming power of holy love so well able to make new.
Make us bold yet gentle in our efforts, just as Jesus always was. Zealous Spirit, help us to be hard working, our feet on the earth but our focus upon heaven, and always but always, praying for the help we need in order to be of good assistance to others.
We must be the work of the Lord Jesus’ hands here on earth, blessed by You, Holy Spirit, Lord, gift of heaven, just as our Saviour is. You sanctify us by holding all things together through the Lord Jesus, our life being shaped by Him.
Please be in all that we seek to be and to do in the Lord Jesus’ name, satan well and truly banished, no longer able to devour us for we are committed through Jesus, strengthened by the Most Holy Eucharist, to offer godly service and accomplish good stewardship.
Be ever our protection and guidance, inspiration and uplifting encouragement, value added to each life we give example to and influence. Move in Your power of love, an amazing power, to even changing the face of the earth by shaping a better, brighter, holier future for all.
According to the many gift of heaven, but most especially that of our holy communion with the love of the Lord Jesus, the kingdom He built and we now administer, will be a place of “…righteousness and peace and joy in You, Holy Spirit,” Lord of the church. (based on Romans 14 v 17)
Whereas previously “…sin reigned in death,” now all thanks be to our Saviour, the Last Supper at Gethsemane, at Calvary, at the banqueting table celebrating the Most Holy Eucharist, grace does “Reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 5 v 21) (Romans 16 v 25 The Truth)
“Oh, come, let us sing to You LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before Your presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to You with psalms. For You are the great God …” ensuring our gift from heaven! (based on Psalm 95 v 1)
“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before You LORD, our Maker” Lord Jesus, our Saviour, and the Holy Spirit, our Sanctifier, “for You are our God …” our Creator, Protector, Provider, Redeemer and Re-Creator, the multiplicity of heavenly gifts, especially that of the Most Holy Eucharist. (based on v 6, 7)
Ever let us praise and thank You totally, wholeheartedly, “Giving You the glory due to Your name and bringing an offering…” that of ourselves to be ever committed to worship You “…in the beauty of
holiness,” that of the Lord Jesus, as we share in His body and blood in holy communion, the greatest gift ever. (based on Psalm 96 v 8) Amen.
