“Your testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.” (Psalm 119 v 24)
Whatever it is God asks of you,
Be ready!
Whatever it is God demands of you,
Be ready!
Whatever the Spirit pulls you towards,
Be ready!
“Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.” (Proverbs 11 v 4)
Whatever it is you are requested to share with Christ Jesus, Be ready!
Call on the Spirit’s effectiveness,
The Spirit of holiness is alert and responsive,
He sees a need and quickens then the action.
The Spirt reveals our mission as church,
As the body of Christ Jesus upon earth.
“Teach me Your statues, make me understand the way of Your precepts; so shall I meditate on Your wonderful works.” (Psalm 119 v 26, 27)
The Spirit develops our call to evangelise.
O joy filled vocation, our dedication to Christ Jesus.
The Spirit develops our courage to this end,
Gifting us the grace of God continuously.
Whatever it is God tells you to do,
Be ready!
“Keep sound wisdom and discretion; so they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in Your way and Your feet will not stumble.” (Proverbs 3 v 21, 22, 23)
Whatever it is God wishes of you to give witness to,
Christ Jesus, Be ready!
Whatever skill the Spirt is wanting to develop for service,
Be ready!
Whatever way you are being led as you pray,
Be ready!
“Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, and I shall keep it to the end. Incline my heart to Your testimonies...Establish Your word to Your servant, who is devoted to fearing You.” (Psalm 119 v 33, 36, 38)
“Let your mercies come also to me, O LORD – Your salvation according to Your word. So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me, for I trust in Your word. And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for I have hoped in Your ordinances.” (Psalm 119 v 41, 42, 43)
Lord, when we are ready to serve You, “Understanding is a wellspring of life to him (her) who has it ...Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul...” (Proverbs 16 v 22, 24) May we be encouragers.
May the Holy Spirit prepare us in our friendship with the Lord Jesus, that we be ready to tackle any areas of life’s deprivation or shortfall.
Strengthen us to bear one another’s burdens in love, in compassion, respectfully and dutifully. Make us strong in self surrendering love and mercy.
Let all believers as the body of Christ Jesus, kingdom builders and maintainers, be united in heart and mind of love, each doing our best for as many others as is possible.
I ask that the Holy Spirit makes us ready and willing to serve, prayerfully looking for opportunities to spread the gospel and always living up to its demanding example, that as set by the Lord Jesus.
May the purpose of each day be our focus on the Lord Jesus and all He, by the Spirit, asks of us, dearest Father, that we may delight and honour You as best we can.
Let us stand ready to act at a moment’s notice because we pray. Nothing must come in the way of our time set aside for prayer, be we praising, thinking, adoring, asking, repenting or just listening.
May the Spirit help us to prayerfully listen, so as to seek and find Your will for us individually and collectively as the body of Christ Jesus, busy in His service as led by the Spirit.
Let us not be put off by trials, tribulations, nor even setbacks. Rather, may we regard these as stepping stones of inspiration, able to draw us ever closer to the Lord Jesus.
“Without the burden of afflictions it is impossible to reach the height of grace. The gift of grace increases as the struggle increases.” (St Rose of Lima) We must please, discover this for ourselves.
Thank You for our calling to be partners with the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, in a team of loving ministry, of hope given, of faith upbuilt, of life enriched, of gainful support.
Our faith’s outreach in prayer and action, must be expectant of providing the best in any given set of circumstances because we allow our Saviour and Master, through the Spirit, full reign of control.
Let us be enabled to comfort and console each other whenever a need arises. “We praise You, Lord God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of all compassion, full of mercy, You are the God of all comfort, who daily gives us strength.” (based on 2 Corinthians 1 v 4)
“You see us through all our difficulties, so we are able to strengthen others in their troubles with the same strength that we have received from You ourselves.” (Cont) Thank You.
Holy Spirit, Lord, please help us to make ready to give witness to the love of Jesus by the love we share to anybody and everybody, both saying and doing, all that is right in Your sight.
Make us please, sensitive, empathetic as well as sympathetic as we make the love of the Lord Jesus the very centre of daily life lived in Christian service, the very reason for living.
Please make us ready for the love of the Lord Jesus to be visible, audible, tangible in all we do for the Lord Jesus’, the Spirit’s outreach through us.
For it is You, Lord God, the Almighty, the Father of each gift and every mercy, who enables us to stand firm in the Lord Jesus, to be ready to welcome and meet the demands of love.
But we do need the Spirit, anointing each of us personally and continuously, thereby setting a seal of ownership upon us as the Spirit of love, He who is all wisdom and truth as revealed by the Lord Jesus, works through us.
The world at large needs to know this; to discover this truth and enjoy it by living accordingly. We need to be ready to speak about the Lord Jesus to those who as yet, have not met Jesus and know nothing about Him. May the Spirit show us where, when and how to impart our knowledge and experience.
Only by coming to our Saviour Brother in close friendship, can we draw closer to You, dearest Father. We who are believers, must stand ready at all times to evangelise and spread the gospel, the best news mankind will ever receive.
May we be generous in our efforts, in time given, in efforts made, in resources shared, in knowledge imparted, in all generosity of holy love imparting its influence.
Thank You Lord, that You will provide what is needed, at the time and in the way which are right, as long as we pray regarding a given situation. May the Spirit ever remind us of how vital prayer is to wellbeing.
May our efforts to be ready to serve result in hearts and minds prepared and ready for action which enlists Your eternal, all loving kindness and mercy.
“Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, for they are the rejoicing of my heart,” (Psalm 119 v 111) and I hope always will be, for this helps me to help others to live in a godly way.
“I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes forever, to the very end,” (Psalm 119 v 112) for the purpose of being ready to serve in all holiness, no more double standards.
“All Your precepts concerning all things I consider to be right. I hate every false way.” (Psalm 119 v 128) Please deliver us from anything that is wrong, so we stand ready to serve You in the holiness the Lord Jesus shares with us. “Direct our steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over us,” (based on Psalm 119 v 133) for the Spirit directs us.
“I rejoice at Your word” the written word of sacred Scripture, the Holy Spirit enlightening us, and the living Word of the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit introducing us and maintaining our friendship. For herein we live “As one who find great treasure.” (Psalm 119 V 162)
This treasure we must impart to others, to as many as is possible. Please make us ready daily for this anointed task, wherein lies our confident hope, the profoundest peace and the highest joy, now and forever.
Such glorious riches await all those who accept the Lord Jesus as Saviour and call on the Holy Spirit as Sanctifier, as Lord God, You show us Your mercy of healing love, thank You.
Your loving protection, Your ceaseless provision, Your endless love, Your boundless mercy is ever our hope dearest Father, secured in Jesus, by the Spirit.
This is what we are called to share. This is what we desire to share successfully, our service bearing rich fruit for the Lord Jesus’ kingdom upon earth. Please help us to be ready to pray, work and accomplish much in love’s service day by day. Amen.
