“ ‘I say to you, ask, and it will be given’.” (Luke 11 v 9)
Asking,
Pleading.
Pressing.
Interceding.
Insisting.
Petitioning.
Supplicating.
Calling.
Even demanding.

There is so much,
So very, very much
To be asking of You,
To be placing before You
Prayerfully, Lord.
But You do ask us to pray
And You say:
“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5 v 18)
Help us please to
“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving, praying also that God would give to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ...” (Colossians 4 v 2)
Then, in so doing,
Can we hear You say to us:
“ ‘Your faith has saved you. Go in peace’.” (Luke 7 v 50)
Lord, teach us to pray.
“Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.” (Psalm 119 v 18) Lord, You say “ ‘This commandment which I command to you today, is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off... The word is very near you, in your mouth and in Your heart, that you may do it,” (Deuteronomy 30 v 11, 14) as a lamp to our walk through life, for You also say “ ‘These words which I command you today shall be in Your heart,” (Deuteronomy 6 v 6)when Your hand is upon us. Please, please, please teach us to pray, pray in us by Your Spirit, and by this Spirit of faith, pray with us. Amen.
