“Christ is to be Lord in your heart. Always be ready to answer those who question why you have this hope that is expressed in these positive attitudes.” (1 Peter 3 v 15 The Truth)
Jesus is the reason for the hope that is in us.
Jesus is the solution to peace between God and us,
Obtained, maintained as we pray in His name.
Jesus is our Saviour Brother, that we be redeemed
At His †of forgiveness and restored to favour.
Jesus is the means of God’s graciousness.
Jesus is our joy as we employ our belief.
-And what a relief this is – the promise of heaven.
Jesus leads us to the fuller life beyond death.
Jesus’ personality is our help and healing,
Repealing the errors of our ways, as we pray.
Jesus makes all the difference in the world to us.
“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good. For His mercy endures forever. For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD.” (Psalm 118 v 1 and Psalm 117 v 2)
This is the difference between life in all fullness now
And the assured promise of this fuller life eventually.
Jesus is our daily life now and eternally.
Jesus is the holy Son who sends the Spirit to us.
Jesus is full to overflowing with this Spirit of holiness,
Therefore He is more than ready to share this when we pray.
The Spirit helps us to pray effectively,
Making the Lord Jesus our everyday prayer offering.
The Spirit is the Spirit of worship in Jesus.
The Spirit conforms us to the Lord Jesus,
Forming a likeness, built upon our shared holiness,
A holiness based on a love which gives of self.
The Spirit teaches us to give ourself to Jesus expectantly.
“ ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you...Ask and you will receive, that your joy may be full’.” (John 16 v 23, 24)
So that with less of us, there is more room for Jesus.
Jesus as Saviour, Lord, Master, the living Word of God.
Jesus as the love and mercy our Father offers us.
The Spirit guards and protects us to live within this sphere.
The Spirit is the Adviser, Counsellor and Informer,
Allowing us, inviting us to come into the fullness Jesus offers us. Jesus is the full happiness in His life, being holy.
Jesus is the fullest, highest promise we will see fulfilled eternally. By the Spirit, Jesus reveals God’s eternal goodness to us.
The Spirit makes us hunger and thirst for this,
So enables us in the Holy Eucharist to feed off the Lord Jesus.
The Spirit makes the communion bread into Jesus’ body.
“ ‘Most assuredly I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven’.” (John 6 v 32)
The Spirit transforms the communion wine into the blood shed at the † for us.
The Spirit’s work is a miraculous work of transubstantiation,
By which we experience the transformation of our salvation.
Jesus is life to us, Spirit taught, Spirit brought.
The Spirit presents before us the superb attractiveness
Of a life led in Jesus, in all wisdom and truth.
The Spirit is the Spirit of love, working directly from above.
The Spirit makes the Lord Jesus King over us,
According to the all loving mercy of forgiveness of our Father.
The Spirit develops through Jesus, our purity of heart and mind.
The Spirit makes us, enables us to be a witness to Jesus.
“The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is to be praised for all He has done for us. He has given us a new birth through the great mercy He has shown us. He has given us a living hope so we can look to the future with great expectation because Jesus Christ has been raised triumphantly from the dead.” (1 Peter 1 v 3 The Truth)
“He has given us an inheritance that can never be ruined, taken from us or even reduced in any way, the inheritance kept for you in heaven.” (1 Peter 1 v 4 The Truth)
Thank You dearest Father, for the positive attitude the Holy Spirit builds within us as we live through the Lord Jesus, making Him our hope, our peace and our all time joy.
We gain the aim of always living righteously, wanting to do what is right in Your sight. And even if we suffer for doing what is right, we will be blessed by our faith in Jesus.
“We preach Christ crucified...Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God,” (1 Corinthians 1 v 23, 24) claiming us as His own according to Your pre-determined plan, Lord God.
“Behold, God is my Helper, the Lord is with those who uphold my life.” (Psalm 54 v 4) Friends and family do this. And notably the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit enable us to cherish the redeemed life You gift us.
All our spiritual needs are met in Jesus as we operate heeding the Spirit’s guidance, warning, correction and general help. I am sorry for any complaints in the face of this fullness, for they are unwarranted and unnecessary.
Thank You for spelling out the hope of eternal life, as promised in the Lord Jesus, in our salvation which is so vital for us to understand, seek and honour.
Thank You that the Lord Jesus gifts us Himself, all that He is, all that He verifies as Your Son, Lord God. We are blessed richly by the Spirit’s revelation of Jesus.
May we ever recognise in our Saviour Brother, Your will, Your word, Your work of renewal and spiritual replenishment, ever the cause for mankind’s prosperity. We rejoice to have a living hope who transforms life for us.
Thank You for all the joys of Christian living, a continuous quest after the holiness the Lord Jesus holds out before us as He lays claim to us. We are the sons and daughters of a King!
The King of Glory is our living hope, a sign of Your love and forgiveness, the unity and fellowship You offer us, called to be partners with the One who is our gladness.
Our service in the Lord Jesus’ friendship as animated, led, strengthened, guided, supported and blessed by the Holy Spirit, herein is our truest, fullest and everlasting happiness.
Thank You so much for the living hope who is our life. Now to You, dearest Father, “Be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3 v 21)
