“Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the (wo)man who trusts in Him.” Psalm 34 v 8
All praise ever be
To the holy Trinity.
We, their adopted family
Are fed on living Bread,
That the holiness of Christ Jesus,
Be readily shared with us.
What a gracious favour,
One we surely must savour!
To taste of Jesus’ love for us
Is to find iniquity
Dealt a death blow mercifully.
We taste the delight of liberty.
Yes, feed on the love
The Father holds out to us
Through Jesus, by the Holy Spirit,
Ever at work in the Eucharist,
In a way most miraculous.
The Spirit deals for us
In the mystery of transformation,
That everybody in every nation
Who believe in Christ Jesus,
Receives the gift of salvation.
The process of deliverance
Accomplished at the †,
Is recalled in the Eucharist,
As if actually happening
In the here and now.
The transubstantiation of bread and wine
Laid on the communion altar,
Is love gifted, that we no longer falter.
The gift of Jesus most precious,
His body and blood given us
Is new life for every partaker.
We are called to become
Kingdom of heaven makers,
Whilst here on earth
Jesus’ death was not in vain.
He takes on the blame
Of all our horrendous sinfulness
To cleanse us by forgiveness.
We by holy communion,
Are restored to a holy union.
2
We journey home to heaven
Together with the Lord Jesus,
The work of the sanctifying Spirit
Always being truly miraculous.
The communion wafer of bread
By which we are lovingly fed,
Is the grain of all we find in Jesus,
A true life with full meaning,
Blessed daily by a holy purpose.
This arises out of the warmth
Of the Lord Jesus’ love for us.
His is the Light causing growth.
There will be no sloth in our progress,
If we but feed on Christ Jesus,
Recognising and responding readily to
Whatever is our Father’s will for us.
It is with the love of Jesus,
Made real to appeal, activated within us,
Whereby we can claim righteousness,
Life is reformed radically.
The cup of communion wine
Is the fine taste of purification.
The blood poured out
At the † of our forgiveness,
Is the very life blood of Jesus.
The blood spilled is not wasted,
But acts as a sacrifice
Of a perfectly holy life.
This the Spirit enables, thank goodness,
Us to name and claim.
Now, in the time celebratory,
Hallmarking the blessing of Epiphany,
A time again made holy by Jesus,
These days which are revelatory
Are as good a time as any
To offer all thanks wholeheartedly.
For the miracle placed before us.
When we partake directly, intimately,
Of the holiness of Christ Jesus.
Let us express all thanks joyously.
For all we are receiving:
The Bread of Life giving truth
And the cup of everlasting salvation.
A general invitation to the eternal banquet awaiting in heaven.
“You have never seen Him in the flesh, yet still you love Him. Even though you cannot see Him
3
physically now, you still believe in Him. and are filled with a tremendous sense of glorious joy!”
1 Peter 1 v 8 The Truth
“For even now you are in the process of receiving the objective of your faith the salvation of your
souls.” 1 Peter 1 v 9 The Truth
Father of love, so merciful, so bountiful towards us, we have to seek You in several ways,
individually, in the silence of time apart from the world.
Thank You that by means of the Holy Spirit, we hear the Lord Jesus speak into the deepest
part of our spirit, soul, body and heart.
May we ever devise sufficient time for this to happen for the blessings and the benefits are
invaluable, It is as is quoted by David and should be a motto for us.
“ ‘For who is God except the LORD? And who is a rock except our God? God is my strength and power and He makes my way perfect’.” 2 Samuel 22 v 32, 33
Thank You that You do this by Your Spirit, calling us to become partakers of the Lord Jesus in
the holy Eucharist, food from heaven.
This allows the followers of the Lord Jesus to join together as one worshipping body with a
collective mission of life being transformed by our pursuit after holiness.
V 47 the singular “ ‘The LORD lives’.” Father God, You live in us through our living in the Lord Jesus, alert to
invocation changed the prompt and persuasion, inspiration and impact of the Holy Spirit. “ ‘Blessed be our
to plural Rock! Let God be exalted, the Rock of our salvation’!”
Both prayerful, individual contemplation and shared holy communion when together, we are
highly privileged and honoured to receive the body and blood of the Lord Jesus, both forms of
worship are our delight, being insight into Your love and mercy as a Trinity.
In particular, the holy Eucharist invites us to remember the atoning sacrifice our Saviour
Brother made at the †, for us. We realise we are a chosen people and this gives us such hope.
Also we rejoice to receive the Lord Jesus as the divine Healer, our sins washed by His blood
shared at the †. In the holy Eucharist, this momentous time is vividly re-presented to us.
In prayer and in holy communion, we connect with divinity. We ask that this has a profound
impact upon our humanity, especially in cleansing us from all iniquity to grant the opportunity
to begin again.
The deeper spiritual self within us, the most important self, as this is the part of us which will
live eternally, is being called out, invited to share in the joys of becoming holy.
Thank You for the newness, the wholeness, the goodness which we are offered as the Lord
Jesus suffered on our behalf. May we ever be receptive and responsive.
May the truth of holy love see profound results. Oh the blessings resulting from turning to
Jesus, aligning our will with His.
“Delight yourself in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37 v 4
All thanks ever be to the holy Trinity. Amen.
